Rovers Knock-off The Hawks
Good pitching, good defense and timely hitting were keys to Rovers success in 4-1 win over Bethlehem Catholic. Amber Dalrymple tossed a two hitter, allowing one run, a solo homerun in the 4th inning. The Rovers score a pair of run in the second and third innings. With runners on second and third and one out, Marissa Csovelak broke for the plate on contact. The ball was fielded and Csovelak was caught in a rundown between home & third. Csovelak kept the rundown going long enough for the Rover baserunners to get to second & third again. That baserunning play helped set up the Rovers first two runs. Meghan Brown would single in a run and the second run would score on a Bethlehem Catholic throwing error. Csovelak figured in the scoring in the third inning also. Csovelak picked up a bases loaded walk to force in the Rovers third run. Lauren Briskie drove in the final run with a single. Hannah Thomas had a pair of hits for the Rovers.
