WHO CAN REGISTER FOR EASTLAKE YOUTH LACROSSE?

We accept athletes from all of the feeder schools to Eastlake High School.  This includes elementary students attending Alcott, Mead, Smith, Blackwell, Carson and McAuliffe and junior high students attending Inglewood and Evergreen Junior High.  Students attending private schools or homeschooled students living in the Eastlake boundaries are also eligible to register, but there are some exceptions if the private school has a lacrosse program.  Contact Youth Director Scott Kelly scott@eastlakeyouthlacrosse.org with any questions.

 

WHAT TEAMS DOES EASTLAKE YOUTH LACROSSE FIELD?

Depending on registration results, we anticipate fielding the following boy's teams in spring 2013:

One 1st/2nd grade teams

Two 3rd/4th grade teams

Two 5th/6th grade teams

Two 7th/8th grade teams
 

WHAT LEAGUE DOES EASTLAKE YOUTH LACROSSE PLAY IN?

Our youth teams play in the Greater Eastside (Youth) Lacrosse league (GELL).  The GELL League is made up of the following programs:

Bellevue / Eastlake / Eastside Catholic / Issaquah / Kirkland / Liberty / Mercer Island / North Shore / Overlake / Redmond / Sammamish / Skyline / Tahoma / Woodinville

 

HOW DO I REGISTER TO PLAY ON A TEAM?

Registration for the Spring season opens in late Fall, with a 2-week window provided for returning player early-registration and thereafter for new players.  To register click on the Registration link on the website main menu

 

IF I REGISTER AN ATHLETE, IS HE AUTOMATICALLY GIVEN A PLACE ON A TEAM?

Athletes will be placed on teams in the order their registrations are received.  If registration is full you may have the option to be added to the waitlist.  Placement on our 7/8 Cardinal A team will be based upon player performance during tryouts.


WHAT DOES IT COST TO PLAY LACROSSE?

The registration fees at Eastlake lacrosse can be found on the Registration payments page.  Custom team uniforms and practice jerseys are given to each player Eastlake Youth Lacrosse as part of their registration fee.  Players are encouraged to wear jerseys and shorts not only in games, but around the community to show their pride and dedication to the program. Athletes provide their own equipment. 

 

HOW IS PAYMENT MADE?

Payment is made exclusively through our online registration process, so that important personal information, waivers and payment are centralized, collected and kept confidential.

WHERE DO I BUY LACROSSE EQUIPMENT?

A popular local lacrosse specialty store is Breakaway Sports, with locations in Bellevue and Seattle:

 Most other sporting goods stores also carry lacrosse equipment including Athletic Supply and Sports Authority. 

 

WHEN AND WHERE ARE PRACTICES HELD?

For the Spring season, practices typically begin in early January.  Practices are usually 2 - 3 nights a week, depending on age/grade.  Most 7/8 teams will practice 2 hours and underclassman 1 1/2 hour sessions.  Practices are often held on one weeknight, Fridays and Sundays.  Practices for youth teams are generally held on the plateau, most often at Eastlake Community Fields (located behind Eastlake HS), Inglewood JH or East Sammamish Park. Eastlake Youth Lacrosse often fields teams during the offseason for Summer, Fall and Winter leagues. Practice times and locations are dependent upon field availability.

 

WHEN ARE GAMES SCHEDULED?

Games are generally scheduled on Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays.  Most teams will play a 10 game regular season (3/4 play an 8 game season).  There is one game per week, beginning in March until the season concludes in May.   Some teams/players may participate in end-of-season tournaments during May and/or June.  Fees for these tournaments are not included in registration fees for Eastlake Lacrosse.

WHERE CAN I PLAY LACROSSE IN THE OFF SEASON?

There are many opportunities to play lacrosse during the summer, fall and winter seasons.  Seattle Starz www.seattlestarzlax.com offer travel select teams in summer and fall.  Cascade Lacrosse Club www.clashlax.com offers indoor lacrosse during the winter.  Camps and other programs are often posted on www.walax.com.

 

DO I NEED A MEMBERSHIP TO US LACROSSE?

US Lacrosse is a national lacrosse organization and all Eastlake players are required to join.  The annual membership fees are inexpensive and can be viewed at: http://www.uslacrosse.org/TopNav/Membership/LevelsofMembership.aspx. Membership includes a monthly lacrosse magazine, but more importantly, it provides insurance coverage for all supervised practices, and is often a requirement for most camps and clinics.
