Eastlake Lacrosse: 1ST / 2ND WOLVES
|
2nd grader Nico U. launches one past his defender in a spring game.
1ST AND 2ND GRADE WOLVES
Our youngest wolves are introduced to the great sport of
lacrosse in 1st and 2nd grades. Players are taught the fundamentals of
the game in a nurturing environment that provides our young athletes a
sense of confidence and accomplishment as they develop the important
skills of the game.
Players learn the game just like their 'big brothers'
with full equipment including sticks, gloves, pads, helmet and
uniforms. While the emphasis is on skill development, the team may also
compete in a few games with other 1/2 programs in the GELL conference.
The season is approximately 10 weeks long beginning in early March and concluding in the middle of May. The team will practice one - two days per week. In some instances, the team may have a game on Saturday and a practice on Sunday of the same weekend.
Registration fees are $195.00 for the season. Equipment is not provided but a limited amount of loaner gear is available. Uniforms will be provided. Each member will receive a Warrior lacrosse reversible jersey, shooting shirt, and shorts.
Skill
development focuses on building strong fundamentals - catching,
throwing, cradling and scooping ground balls. We also teach the basic
rules of game play.
The
environment is positive and encouraging. We celebrate our successes
and make the experience fun and rewarding. Our goal is to help young
players develop a lifelong love of the game and a sense of belonging and
accomplishment.
