Cookie Dough and Goodies Fundraiser

COOKIE DOUGH AND GOODIES FUNDRAISER

Please support our Eastlake Youth Football League by participating in our league fundraiser.

BEGINS Monday, August 18th and ENDS Thursday, Sptemeber 4th.

Order forms will be coming out shortly.

This fundraiser will help cover many new items that have been purchased for this year or that will be purchsed in the next few years.

We have already purchased new uniforms for our A and B divisions as well as shoulder pads throughout all the divisions.

We plan on purchasing Navy uniforms next year and more shoulder pads to complete our entire invetory.

Then we will begin purchaing new helmets for our divisions.

These items are very expensive but are necessary for the protection of our players.  Uniforms are replaced because of normal wear and tear every so many years.

We take pride in our league and are proud we are able to purchase these items.

However we do need your support to make this happen and are so lucky to have the support you do give to our league and players.

Your help makes our league what it is!

Prizes will also be offered to our sellers!

Thank you for your continued support!

Game Recap

Week 1 Game Recap

The AIR FORCE FALCONS traveled to Kirtland to play the Kirtland Gold Hornets.  The Falcons played hard and had a close game going into the 4th quarter.  Despite all their hard work they fell short to the Kirtland Gold Hornets with a score of 0-19.

NAVY BLUE went to Osborne Park to play the Willoughby Rebels.   Navy never gave up and fought hard the entire game but ended up with a score of 0-12.

ARMY CADETS played at Osborne Park against the Willoughby Rebels.  The Cadets came out ready to play and took a lead early in the game.  The score remained the same throughout the rest of the game and the Cadets won 12-0.  Great job team!!

ARMY was the last team to finish our day of football and played at Osborne facing the Willoughby Rebels.  It was a battle on both sides of the ball and unfortunately the clock ran out of time leaving this game with a 0-0 tie.

Thank you to all the parents, families and friends who went to support our teams this week.

Enjoy the holiday weekend get ready for our next weekend of games!

Important Message to our Parents

A NOTE TO OUR E.Y.F.L. PARENTS

We hope you have enjoyed your first couple weeks of football practice and everyone has gotten adjusted to the schedule. As you all can see football is a big commitment and we thank you for taking the time to have your children at practice and on time just about every day of the week. If you are anything like us we always look forward to Friday for a practice free night. As we move into another week of practice we need to give you each a little reminder. It has been brought to our attention by coaches, team moms and parents of players that all parents have not been present at practices. This is something of importance that needs to be addressed. You signed a Parent Conduct form and the very first guideline listed is as follows:

I WILL REGULARLY ATTEND MY CHILD’S PRACTICES AND GAMES. OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS NOT A BABYSITTING SERVICE. IF I SHOULD, OCCASIONALLY, NEED TO LEAVE MY CHILD AT A PRACTICE OR GAME, I WILL FIND OUT THE EXPECTED TIME THESE EVENTS SHALL END. I WILL RETURN ON TIME TO PICK UP MY CHILD.

While we have had every parent return on time to pick their child up from practice, it has been observed that parents are dropping off children and leaving. We ask that a parent or relative attend all practices and games. If there is reason where someone needs to leave, please make sure your coach or team mom is aware and gets an immediate contact phone number where you can be reached right away if necessary. While we as a league try to give our players the safest environment we can by great equipment and coaching certification there is always the chance an accident can occur. We certainly never want an accident to occur but in the event one should happen and a parent/relative is not present it does make it more difficult for the child. There is also a lot of information to be given to parents and not having you at a practice makes it very difficult for our team moms to communicate with you.

Also, not having a player at practice on a regular basis does affect every practice for both the team and the coaches. Every day the teams are organizing their players and positions. We do understand that kids get sick and may have to miss a practice. However, on a regular basis we MUST have players at their practices. With that being said, if a player misses too many practices in one week, this could and will affect his playing time for the upcoming game. This is not to serve as a punishment, but to keep the players safety a top priority. Not only will the player not be familiar with the plays but depending on how many practices are missed the player may not be conditioned properly for the approaching game.

We hope you each understand why this request is made. If you should have any questions or concerns you can always speak to our league President, Missy Swearingen. I will be happy to discuss your concerns or answer your questions. THANK YOU for taking the time to read this reminder and for your continued effort and support of the E.Y.F.L.

If by chance you would like to review our Parent Conduct form on line you can do so on our website www.eastlakefootball.org. Go to the handout tab on the left side and click on it, and then click on the Parent’s Code of Conduct Contract link to download the form.

Thanks again!
