Eastlake Little League Announces Fall Ball

ELL Members,

The Little Leagues of WA District 9 created and tested a fall baseball program in 2001. Twenty teams from across the District participated.  The program has continued each year thereafter, with ELL forming four teams last year alone. Do not miss the opportunity to play Little League Fall Baseball this year.

Fall Ball is designed to give players an opportunity to continue their involvement in Little League after the regular season ends. The objective of the Fall League is to increase a player's baseball skills in a fun and relaxed environment.  Players who did not participate in the spring season are welcome to join the Fall Ball program.

Fall Ball runs from the first Weekend after Labor Day in September thru mid October (six or seven weeks).  Games are normally scheduled as double headers on Sundays.

The four separate fall leagues are:
• Minor League – Players who were League age 7 or higher this past Little League Spring season and will be moving to Player Pitch next year.

• Major 2 League - Players who were playing AA/AAA Level (Player Pitch) of play last year and were not younger than League age 8 nor older than League Age 11 this past Little League spring season are eligible to participate in this fall baseball league.

• Major 1 League -  Players who were at least League Age 10 this past Little League spring season and were not older than League Age 11 this past Little League spring season are eligible to participate in this fall baseball league. Primarily for players that played Coast or Majors or 10/11 All Stars last year.

All games are played against other Leagues within WA District 9 on the home teams fields.  All divisions except Minor League will play double headers on Sundays.  Minor League will play one game per Sunday.

The rules encourage the managers to give players the chance to learn new skills and to try and play new positions in game situations. The games will be umpired, but no standings or records will be kept. Every player will be in the batting lineup and there will be no limit to field substitution.  Pitchers will be limited to 2 innings per game to give all players a chance to learn how to pitch.

Registration will begin on June 24 and run through July 19.  Fees are $100 per player at Majors, and $80 per player at Minors.

If you have any questions/comments about fall baseball, please contact vp-baseball@eastlakell.org.

Coast City Tournament Champions

UPDATED 6/16 @ 9:30 am

Congratulations to the Coast Huskies for capping off their season by winning the Coast City Championship.

The Huskies went into this year end tournament after a perfect 14-0 regular season, and winners of the D9 Coast Midseason Tournament. In the City Championship tournament, they knocked off the Issaquah Twins, the SnoValley North Bandits and the Fall City Angels to reach the championship round.  They fell to the Angels in that next game (their only loss of the season), but bounced back with a hard fought, 18-11 victory to take the title.

In the finale, Maddie Nelson, Ashley Fitzgibbons and Sarah Brewer gave the Huskies solid performances on the mound.  At the plate in this final game, Maddy Kennedy went 3-3 at the plate with 3 RBI, Caitlin Bowers had a 2 RBI double and Alyssa Walsh drove in 4 runs.

Thursday will be a barbecue with competitions and prizes awarded afterwards.  Each player will get an SBA t-shirt.  SBA is all about QUALITY and not QUANTITY so once again there will be a limit on the number  of ballplayers allowed to sign up.  Last year there was a waiting list so do not procrastinate…SBA strives to keep the ballplayer to coach ratio  LOW…so the learning curve is HIGH…
