Game #1: Won 22-4 against Bainbridge Island.
In game #1, EJ/SJ/PT dominated Bainbridge Island with their pitching and hot bats. Starting pitcher Madeline Nordberg pitched 1 inning with 2 strike outs, Kelsey O’Brien pitched the 2nd inning with 1 strikeout, and Bailey Castillo pitched the remaining 2 innings with 2 strike outs. Defensive play of the game was a double play by center fielder Audrey Thacker, catching a fly ball and throwing the base runner out at 1st base before she could tag up. Hitting was led by Bailey Castillo who went 4-5 with 4 runs scored. Other big hitters were Shea Minder (2-4/3R), Madeline Nordberg (2-5/4R), Kelsey O’Brien (1-1/4R), Ashley Kelley (1-2/3R).
Game #2: Won 36-9 against Sequim
Game #2 was much the same. All four pitchers pitched only 1 inning, ensuring they are all available to pitch game #3. Starting pitcher Kelsey O’Brien had 3 strikeouts, Madeline Nordberg had 1 strikeout, Riley Eldridge and Audrey Thacker each had 2 strikeouts. EJ/SJ/PT’s hitting machine went to work again scoring 22 runs in the 1st inning. Bailey Castillo and Kelsey O’Brien each hit 3-3. Madeline Nordberg went 5-6, Samantha Rae went 2-3 and Shea Minder went 2-2.

Minor Girls are 2008 Washington District 2 Champions
The 2008 Minor Girls team was a dominant force going undefeated in the District Tournament. These girls can play!

State Tournament Results
Game #1: Kelsey O'Brien started on the mound and pitched the whole game. Kelsey had 8 strikeouts and gave up only 2 hits. We only had 2 hits,Sam Rae got a hit in the 2nd inning and scored on a passed ball,Shae Minder walked, Bailey Castillo walked and Madeline got a hit to score Minder from second base. Aggressive base running got a couple of runs and Madeline's hit got the winning RBI in the 5th inning to bring the score 3-1. The girls played great defense only giving up 2 runs. They made alot of great plays. Madeline Nordberg had 7 assists. Girls played great and are having a blast. Stilly Valley is from the Arlington area.
Game #2: Won 9-3 against Cascade
Game #3: To be played at 6:00 PM Friday against Kirkland, the only other undefeated team.

Big League Boys
Washington District 2 is hosting the Regional Tournament for which we get an automatic berth. The tournament will be located at the Kitsap Fairgrounds. Our first game is at 7:00 PM, Friday July 18th against Oregon.
East Jefferson players on the All Star team are Kyle Doucette, Chance Eldridge, Elijah Roulst, Ivan Evasick and John Modispacher.

Game #1: EJ/SJ won 21-2 against South Kitsap Western
Dylan Brown and Nick Torento held South Kitsap Western hitters to 2 runs on 1 hit and the EJ/SJ offense scored 21 runs on 23 hits, including a 2-run homerun by Tyson Eldridge in the 2nd and a grand-slam homerun by Dillon Dukek in the 3rd, for a 5 inning victory.

Game #2: EJ/SJ won 14-4 against South Kitsap Southern
EJ/SJ established an early 4 run lead but South Kitsap Southern tied the game in the 3rd inning with a 3-run homerun and another run on an RBI single. The EJ/SJ offense then went to work, scoring 11 runs in the final 3 innings, including a 3-run homerun in the 4th by Nick Torento. Pitchers Brandon Bancroft, Nick Torento and Adam Osmer combined to shut down the South Kitsap Southern hitters to seal a 6 inning 15-4 victory. Catcher Devin Manix had an outstanding game, throwing out 2 baserunners and going 4-5 at the plate with 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

The Senior All-Star team offense scored 12 runs, including 7 from 5 homeruns in the game, and Nick Torrento pitched a complete game for a 12-2 victory over South Kitsap Southern in the championship game.

The State Tournament will be held at Moshier Park in Burien.
