Eastern Shore Bassmasters: Welcome
Eastern Shore Bassmasters of Delaware
Welcome to the Eastern Shore Bassmasters of Delaware website. We are a bass fishing club located in central Delaware, dedicated to promoting the sport of bass fishing. As a club, we are committed to generating public awareness to the sport of bass fishing, volunteering our efforts for the protection and conservation of our natural resource areas. We strive to improve the opportunities available to young boys and girls interested in the enjoyment this great recreation has to offer. Our club is also a member of the Delaware B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and the Delaware Bass Federation (FLW/TBF). These affiliations offer our members the opportunity to fish state qualifying tournaments, divisional and regional qualifying tournaments, and a shot at the highest level national championships in all of bass fishing.

The Eastern Shore Junior Bassmasters are looking for kids and young adults between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age to join the Eastern Shore Junior Bassmasters. The Junior club will be made up of three divisions starting this year.
There is an 8-18 year old fun-fishing division designed for kids and teens who just want to come out and fish and have fun with others their same age, enjoying the sport they love. There are no limits to the types of fish you catch or methods. Live bait is always welcome!
The second division is the 11-14 Junior Bassmaster program. This division is designed for kids that have been fishing for a while and would like to try their hand at competitive fishing in our junior club tournaments. This is a competitive club that will allow its members the opportunity to fish the Delaware B.A.S.S. and Delaware TBF Junior State Qualifiers, with a chance to move onto the Mid-Atlantic Divisionals, and possibly the Junior World Championships.
The third division is the 15-18 Junior Bassmaster program. This division is designed for teens and young adults that have been fishing competitively, and are serious about taking their fishing career to the next level, whether it be a high school team, college team, or joining an adult club and competing at the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation level. This division will also compete at the Junior State Qualifiers and possibly the divisional and national championship levels. The member from this division that wins the Junior State Qualifier, could earn a berth to fish as a junior member of the Eastern Shore Bassmasters adult club, and a shot at making it to the Bassmaster Classic.
Anyone interested in joining the Eastern Shore Junior Bassmasters at any level should contact Mr. Bob Moody at (302)270-3572 for more information, or email at fish572@verizon.net.
The next Eastern Shore Bassmasters Club Meeting will be held January 11th at Bob's house from 7:00 to 9:00. Call (302)339-2133 for more information...
The Eastern Shore Bassmasters wrapped up the 1st leg of their 2010 season on the Nanticoke River on December 13th. The weather was a bit uncooperative with air temps ranging from a chilly 34 degrees at launch to a mild 50 degrees at weigh-in with rain all day from drizzle to a near down pour. Water temps ranged in the 39-41 degree range, coupled with an extreme low tide.
Leading the field was Josh Wich, with his 3 fish for 3.64 pounds. Josh found a decent bite during a falling tide in slow water, not to mention a number of other species including a couple of citation sized Crappie.
In 2nd place was Ron Horton, with a single keeper fish weighing 1.60 pounds. That fish was good enough for the day's lunker.
Rounding out 3rd was a guest of the club, Bill Miller. Bill rode with Dave and managed a 1.15 pound bass on a shaky head in a shallow water pocket in the last 50 minutes. This was Bill's second trip with the club, and his 2nd top 3 finish...
The club has wrapped it up officially for the winter, but will be back in late March gearing up for a real competitive Spring/Summer season.
