Position: Head Coach
Profile: Coach Roberts will enter his fifth season as the Head Coach of the 14U Astros in 2010. Coach Roberts' first 14U Astros team in 2006 posted a 14U record of 73-6 and won the USSSA Elite 24 National Championship in addition to the Perfect Game BCS National crown. The 2006 Astros were also named National Champions by several youth baseball publications including Travel Ball Select, USA Sports rankings and National Youth Baseball. Five players from the 2006 Astros Club were named All-American by Travel Ball Select including 2006 player of the year, Chase Butler. Fifteen of the players from Coach Roberts' 2006 Astros team have committed to play college baseball at some of the Nation's best programs including Georgia Tech, Univ. of Georgia, Auburn, Univ. of Tenn and others.

The 2007 Astros club found someway to better the 2006 squad by posting a 72-7 14U record and wiining three National Titles including the Perfect Game WWBA and BCS Corwns as well as a repeat at the USSSA Elite-24 National Championships. Coach Roberts' 2007 Astros also posted an impressive 5-1 record at the Perfect Game 16U National Championship which included a win over a top-10 16U team. The 2007 Astros were also a consensus choice for National Champions by all major youth baseball media outlets. Five '07 Astros earned All-American honors including Kaleb Cowart who is currently ranked as one of the top ten 2010 draft-eligible players in the Nation by Perfect Game and is projected to be a 1st round MLB draft choice.

The 2008 Astros posted a 14U rcord of 62-4-1 on the season and won the Perfect Game WWBA 14U National Championship giving Coach Roberts and the Astros coaching staff their sixth major national championship in their first three years at East Cobb. In addition to the WWBA National Championship, the 2008 'Stros posted an impressive combined 31-11-2 record against 15U (25-8-1), 16U (4-1) and 17U (2-2-1) teams. Six Astros from the 2008 team were named to TBS' All-American and honorable mention teams.

Coach Roberts' 2009 Astros captured their third USSSA Elite 24/32 National title in four years posting a 62-7 14U record.

Coach Roberts began coaching baseball in Atlanta with the Chastain Bulls travel baseball program in 1997. In 2000, he founded the Atlanta Bulls Baseball program out of Ben Gilbert Field (Moore's Mill). Coach Roberts' Bulls teams earned several top-10 national finishes in major world series events including 2001 (13U AAU), 2002 (14U AAU), 2003 (13U CABA), and 2004 (14U CABA). Coach Roberts' 2005 Bulls 13U team was the National CABA World Series Runner-Up.

Coach Roberts' Bulls teams also won Georgia State Championship titles and league championships in 2002 (AAU, NABF, NWBA Select League), 2003 (NABF), 2004 (CABA, AAU, SANDLOTT Super League) and 2005 (SANDLOTT Super League).

Many of Coach Roberts' players from his Bulls teams played or are still playing college baseball at schools including: Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Indiana Univ., Univ. of Texas, Auburn Univ., Georgia, Ole Miss, UAB, Penn, and Richmond.

Coach Roberts was a scholarhip football at Florida State University for Coach Bobby Bowden from 1986-1990. At FSU, Coach Roberts was a 4-year letterman, earned NCAA Academic All-American Honors in 1989-90 and played on four New Year's Day Bowl Game Championship teams. Coach Roberts still holds the single-game receiving record for tight-ends at FSU set against Miami in 1990. While playing football at FSU, Coach Roberts stayed involved in baseball playing in summer mens leagues in Tallahassee.

Coach Roberts works with the Astros infielders and catchers.

Coach Roberts attended law school at the University of Texas and currently operates his own employment law firm in Atlanta where he lives with his wife Courtney, son Cade (6) and daughter Elizabeth (3).
