BRAVES MANHANDLE EC TITANS 10-2 IN SUPER NIT QUARTERFINALS
The Braves returned to East Cobb this afternoon to face the #4 seed East Cobb Titans in the quarterfinals of the USSSA Georgia Super NIT tournament. With a 2-1 lead going into the fifth inning, we busted it open with 8 runs across the final three frames for a convincing 10-2 win against one of the top-ranked USSSA teams in the nation.

Offensively, the Braves outhit the Titans 12-8. #33 Stephen Wrenn got the hits started in the top of the first inning with a single up the middle. After stealing two bases, Wrenn then scored our first run on an RBI put-out by #10 John Davis. #16 Nathaniel Maggio copied Wrenn's single through the middle in the second inning but was thrown out attempting to steal second base. In the third inning, #11 CJ Brazil reached on an error by the Titan's second baseman, and later scored on an RBI-DOUBLE to the right field gap off the bat of #5 Hunter Swilling. #10 John Davis led off the fourth inning with a single to the left field gap, but the Braves were unable to string anything together to continue our scoring. That problem ended abruptly in the fifth inning as the Braves used 3 hits and a walk to record 3 runs for a 5-1 lead. #44 Jordan "Hank" Brown drilled a ball to the wall in left-centerfield and #11 CJ Brazil recorded 6-pitch walk to set the stage for an RBI-DOUBLE to the right field corner by #1 Nick Sexton. One out later, #33 Stephen Wrenn shot a 2-RBI single to the right field gap to score Brazil and Sexton. Then, after a quiet sixth inning, the Braves used our last at-bats in the seventh to seal the deal with 5 runs on 5 hits, all singles off the bats of #8 Patrick Schultz, #44 Jordan Brown, #1 Nick Sexton, #33 Stephen Wrenn, and #2 Sam Ayers. The inning also featured a towering sacrifice fly to centerfield off the bat of #10 John Davis.

Defensively, #44 Jordan Brown pitched a masterful complete game, giving up only 1 earned run on 8 hits and 1 walk with 7 strike outs. He also field his position well, recording three put-outs at first base from the mound. #11 CJ Brazil quarterbacked the defense from behind the dish, gunning down 1 Titans baserunner at second base.
