BRAVES CLOBBER YANKEES 21-0 IN SECOND CABA ROUND ROBIN GAME
The hits just kept on coming on Field #5 at East Cobb tonight as the Braves run-ruled the East Cobb Yankees 21-0 in just four innings to record the "W" in our second round robin game of the CABA Georgia State Championship. As a team, the Braves hit 18 for 34 yielding a .529 batting average. Four pitches into the game, the visiting Braves took a 2 run lead on a 2-RBI HOME RUN off the bat of #33 Stephen Wrenn that cleared the left field wall, his third dinger of the season. Sixteen hits and nineteen runs later, mercy was granted and the Braves officially notched their 30th win of the 2009 season.

Offensively, the Braves set a season record for the number of hits in a single game at 18. Nearly everyone was in on the action, with 6 of the 18 hits going for extra bases. #5 Hunter Swilling went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, #33 Stephen Wrenn went 3 for 4 with 2 DOUBLES and 1 HOME RUN, #10 John Davis went 2 for 4 with 1 DOUBLE and 1 single, #2 Sam Ayers went 1 for 1 with a single and also recorded a game-high 3 HBP's, #8 Patrick Schultz went 2 for 4 with 1 DOUBLE and 1 single, #22 Jon Jon Banks went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, #12 Will Schnure went 1 for 4 with 1 DOUBLE, #7 Tyler Weyenberg went 1 for 2 with 1 single, and #21 Brian Kehner went 1 for 2 with 1 single. Wrenn led all Braves' batters with 5 RBI's, Schultz and Banks each contributed 4 RBI's, and Davis had 2 RBI's.

Defensively, #21 Brian Kehner pitched a 1-hit complete game shut out on 50 pitches. His strike to ball ratio was 1.63 across the game's 4 innings as he struck out a season-high 7 batters and issued only 1 walk. The Braves defense played exceptionally well behind Kehner, catching 5 fly balls for the balance of Yankees' outs.
