UPCOMING EVENTS
****** WWBA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS @ JUPITER ****** The East Coast Grays open up tommorrow for the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, FL. The tournament is considered to be the top amateur tournament in the world. The top 85 teams from across the US, Canada and Latin America attend this prestigious event. There will be over 1000 college and pro scouts in attendance.
The Grays will feature another strong pitching staff for the event and will also feature a number of high level underclassmen for the event. Connor Kendrick (GA), who is committed to Georgia Tech takes the hill in Game 1 to start. All summer long he has shown a fastball in the 86-90 range with plus command. The next two pitchers featured will be Pat Connaughton(MA), a 2011 grad who is 6'6 and was 88-90 in Ft Myers; and Lucas Sims(GA) who is one of the top 2012 grads in the country. Sims was 89-91 in Ft Myers a couple weeks ago as well. Game 2 will consist of Travis Dean(MA) who is committed to Kennesaw State and followed up by Eric Morse(CT) and Preston Packrall(FL). Morse has been as high as 89 this past summer and pitched 7 innings in the playoffs at the the WWBA NE QUAL #2 in Long Island. He spotted his fastball all day and had hitters off balance with a solid breaking pitch. Packrall is one of the top SS in the country and has also been 87-90 this summer on the hill. In Game 3, Vanderbilt commit TJ Pecoraro takes the mound against On Deck O's. TJ attended the event last year with the Grays and really made a name for himself. This year he has been lights out everywhere and has ranged from 88-93. He is followed up by 2011 Charlie Lamar(FL) who is a LHP in the mid 80's with a plus CB and command. The last game is against the Florida Bombers and the Grays will throw 2011 brothers Nico and Cory Slater, along with Mason Caldwell(TN). Both Slaters played with Coach Snusz this summer. At East Cobb, Cory hit a walk off grand slam and Nico was 90-92. Caldwell is a LHP that is 85-88 with good command. THURSDAY SCHEDULE: Coach Snusz will be at the complex around 2:30pm... be there no later than 4:30pm...uniforms and hats will be given to upon arrival... early hitting will start at 3:00pm and will finish up at about 5:00pm... please wear white pants for the 1st game Wednesday, September 9
