       Dan Shirley wrestled in Regionals last nite. He gave it a tough battle against one of the top wrestlers in 215 from Hillsbough. By the end of the 1st Dan was down 2-1. Dan ened up lossing by a fall late in second ,   before his fall he was down 4-8.I was happy to see a few of our wrestlers there .

         East Brunswick Bears as a team finished in 5th Place in team points out of 11 teams that competed .

J'arell started the match off for usgave it a tough go by got pinned in the last :33 seconds of the match. Andrew S. loss by MD At 160 Justine Stamile stepped in for Brett K. gave it a good try but loss in second period by a fall. John S. loss by MD. Rimoun H. loss by dec. Dan S. Won by forfeit. Alex C. also Won by forfeit. Marc W. had a strong match but lost in OT 2-4. Fady had the same but he Won in OT 4-2.Matt P. Wonby a fall. Ryan L. loss by dec. as well as Ryan M. Matt S. loss by fall in second period. was a tough start to our Quad losing   41-18.

Match started at 145

Andrew S. started off our second match of the day with a winning fall . Ryan D. Won by a forfeit. At 160 Mike Cioffi wrestled in place of Brett K. was a wild match but in the end Mike lost 13-18. John S. loss by dec. Rimoun H. loss by dec. Dan S. Won by a fall early in the first period. Alex C. Won by forfeit. Marc W. won by MD . Fady Won by a fall .Matt P. also Won by a fall. Ryan L. loss by MD.Ryan M. Won by a fall it was a great match Ryan didnt stop and he turned it around he was losing and kept going and won.Matt S. loss by a fall and the match eded as J'arell loss by a TF.

Bears won 46-24.

   Our final match of the day to our quad match was against Willingboro . Ryan Dalton started it off with a fall in the second period. Justine Stamile was up next but loss a MD.John Segreto Won by forfeit. Rimoun Hanna loss by dec. Dan Shirley loss by a fall. Alex Cartelli Won by a forfeit.Marc Webber Won a greay match by MD 14-0. Fady Youssef had to withdrawl from match due to injury. Matt Paribello Won by MD 15-1.Ryan Levinsky Won by forfeit. Ryan Marosy loss by MD 4-14. Matt shirley loss by fall,as well as J'arell Hudgins who loss by a fall. Andrew Schittone was our last man up he gave it his best but lost a close match in the end 2-3.

Bears lost 32-38  giving us a 8-9 season. Way to go guys, by coming back and winning the last 5 matches in a row to get back to a even record going into today quad match.

      Our next match is this Friday and Saurday @ South Brunswick for the Districts.

Match started @ 125

Ryan L. started the nite off with Win by dec. Phillip M. was up next and loss a MD dec. Ryan M. was up next and Won a hard fought match 1-0. Matt S. Won by Forteit.Ja'rell loss by dec.Ryan D. Won by a dec great match Ryan. Brett K and John S. both lost their matches by dec. Rimoun H.had a great match and won a MD . Dan S. was up next losss by MD.Great job by Alex C. by winning by dec.Marc W. lost a close match by dec. As well did Fady by dec.Last up was Matt P. who knew the whole nites match was resting on him, (no pressure matt) Matt like all of our past wrestlers in this spot came out to win . He won his match by dec. 5-0 giving the East Brunswick Bears their 5th win in a row. Now we are at a record of 7-7 with just this weekend to go . Our next match is on this Saturday at South Brunswick its a quad match against South Brunswick, Highland Park and Willingboro. Its been a tough season for our guys but lets see them all to the finish line. The match starts at 10:00 a.m. Good luck guys   and yes GO Bears !!!

Our Match started @ 215lbs

Dan Shirley started the match with a early loss in the first Period by a Fall.Alex Cartelli up next as he Won by a forefit.Marc Webber won a tough battle Won by dec. Fady Yousseff loss by dec. Matt Paribello loss in OT 2-4.Ryan Levinsky Won by dec.Ryan Marosy loss by dec.and well as Matt Shirley who loss by a fall. J'arell Hudgins Won by a fall.Andrew Schittone continued his winning ways and Won his match 11-4.At 152 Ryan Dalton won a hard fought match by dec. Brett Kamin looked good today by a  6-2 win. John Segreto lost a heartbreaker in the final second 1-2. The match ended up in Rimouns hands and he was ready for the task. Rimoun Hanna Won by MD 10-0, to give the Bears  a four in a row winning streak  . We are now 6-7 with the closing two weeks left. Our next match is our final home match against Bridgewater-Raritan.    Our first two matches started out with wins as South River Forefited 103 and 112.

Ryan Marosy won by a fall in the second period.Matt Shirley loss by a MD 5-17.At 140 Jacob King Loss in first period by a fall. Congrats to Andrew Schittone for his first Varisty win with a dec. 3-1 way to go Andrew!! Ryan Dalton was up next and Won by a fall.Brett Kamin won tough match by dec.4-3.John Segreto Won by a fall.Rimoun Hanna also Won by a fall. Dan Shirley came back to the lineup and Won his match in the last 3 seconds by dec.10-9.Alex Cartelli Won by a fall.Matt Paribello also Won his match by a fall in the first period.The nite ended up on a final fall as Ryan Levinsky Won his match by a fall. This match we won 63-10 making that Three in a row for the Bears!!! Way to go boys keep it up. Saturday math is @ woodbridge lets keep the stresk alive. GO BEARS!!!

 Matt Shirley started it out trying hard for his first win but not tonite he lost a close dec.0-3.J'arell Won by a fall .Also looking for his first win was Andrew S. who also fell short by losing in third period by a fall. Ryan D.Won by a fall. Brett Kamin lost a hard faught battle in the final seconds. John S. Won by a fall in the third. Rimoun Won by dec. in a fantastic battle that took it to 3 OTs. Congrats goes out to Matt Schrivanich for winning his first varsity match 11-8.Alex C. Won by a fall . Marc W. and Fady Y. were both losers last nite by dec. Matt P. then was up and Won his match by dec.The nite ended as both Ryans , Ryan Lev. Won by dec. and Ryan M. Won by a fall as he came back from a 0-4 to end up pinning Nick E. way to go Ryan by not giving up . This is our first back to back wins this year lets hope it continues as we get ready for our up coming match against South Brunswick and the GMC'S. Give it all you got Bears.

                               BEARS UPSET PERTH AMBOY   It was Senior nite at the High School. Congrats to all of our seniors hope for nothing but the best for all of you in your coming years. May you always cherish the years you have spent here in East Brunswick High and have nothing but fond memories of your wrestling careers here. I know we will never forget them.   Ok now for our match. We started off @ 145lbs.          Andrew S. started off by saving team point by not getting pinned but lost by MD.Ryan Dalton was our next man up Won by dec., followered by Brett K. who also won a hard fought match and won a dec by 1 point. John S. had a great match and stunned his opponent by a fall. Rimoun H. like Brett fought hard and won by dec. 2-1.Matt Scrivanich despite getting pinned showed great promise as he was able to hang in there with probably the top wrestler in our division. Alex C. and Marc W. were on the ends of fall. Fady Y. took it to OT and won a huge dec. Ryan L. who was trailing in the third took advantage of a major mistake and pinned his late in the period. All eyes were then on Ryan M.who was next up, a win here and we would be assured of the win. He had a good match and won a dec. Our last wrestler of the evening was Matt S. who seemed to be on the end of angry Perth Amboy team for losing the match. They wanted blood and a reaction from our team and fans. They got the blood but we all held our cool and it ended up Matt lost but was able to keep his temper. Still giving our team a stunning upset over one of the top teams in our division. Congratulations to all the coaches and team who have a created a well mannered and behaved team and are probably the best conditioned team in the GMC’S. Great Job All. Our next match is tonight @ Colonia. Lets Support our team and the winning will come!!! GO BEARS!!!  

       Our match started at 130lbs. Oldbridge came out strong and fast pinning our first wrestlers all in the min. of their matches. Andrew Schittone was our forth man up and tried his best but lost in dec. Ryan Dalton continued his winning ways and Won his match by a fall. Brett Kamin and John Segreto came up on the losing end. As well as Rimoun Hanna losing by dec . Dan Shirley, Alex Cartelli and Marc Webber were all victims of the fall last nite. Fady Youssef lost a good match in a dec. One of our best matches of the nite goes to Matt Paribello the match went back and forth and in the end Matt Won 5-4.The night closed out with Ryan Levinsky losing by a fall in the first period. Our boys just didn't seem to have that fire they had the other night, they never seemed to finish their moves. Our next match is another home match against Perth Amboy. Thursday  Jan. 22 @ 7:00 Lets all try to show up and give our boys support and restart their winning ways . See you all Tomorrow.   GO BEARS   !!!!

Our Match started at 119 with Matt Paribello winning by a Forefit. Phil Morrell ,Ryan Marosy ,Jacob King also had some bad luck and came up on the losing end tonite. J'arell Hudgins had an exciting match was tooth and nail til the last 30 seconds with J'arell lossing 15-18.Andrew Schittone  also lost by a fall in the second . Ryan Dalton won a close match 7-6 another great match by Ryan. Brett Kamin came back to winning form by scoring a pin early in the first. John Segreto who looked like he was goona be pinned early held off to save team points and lost 4-11. Rimoun and Alex also came up short  with losses. Marc Webber stayed the path and won his third straight match 6-4.Fady our last man up loss by TF 4-19  

                        Our next match is this Saturday against New Egypt. @ 3:00 Lets all try to make it and see our bears win!!!!

   Ok on a side Bar : I want to say I really love our GMC Refs. They may not  get it right all the time, but they at least look out for all of our kids safety.

             Ok with that said we started the match at 130 with Ryan Marosy losing a tough battle in OT .Matt Shirley lost next match on a pin. J'arell Hudgins Won by a fall . Andrew S. had a tough match and lost a TF . Ryan Dalton what can I say he keeps you on the Edge of seats until the final tick, he won  a great match. Brett Kamin's match could have went either way it was a tough battle but Brett Just fell short,in the end 20 seconds more and the match was his.John Segreto was up next lost  by a MD. Rimoun Hanna Won a tough one by dec. At 215 Dan Shirley came back in form by pinning his man in the second. Congrats goes out to Alex Cartelli for his first win of the season not only by winning the match but by a fall  (Way to go Alex) Marc Webber what can I say the kid is non stop,the wins coming he gets better with each match . Keep it  going Marc !  Fady Yousseff lost the next match so close but was out scored. Matt Paribello had a terrific win even hurt he keeps on going.Also Congrats goes out for Ryan Levinsky with his first Varsity win . There were alot of great match's tonight ,some we won and some we lost but the whole thing was priceless!

Our first matches were hard fought by we lost either by fall or dec. Brett had a tough match against Tyler Adams but held it close not to lose team points   loss was 7-1.Rimoun who looked like he had his hands full waited for his shot to take down and pin his man in 3:08. Dan Shirley also had a tough match and was pinned for the first time during team matches. Looked like he was going to avoid the pin as he arched from his back to almost the standing position but at the end he had nothing left to give. and lost in 1:49.Alex Cartelli was up next and was also a victim of a fast moving pin. Mac Webber continued his winning ways as he won his second match scoring a TF 16-1. Fady Yousseff lost a close one 5-6. Matt Paribello lost by MD.1-12.Ryan Levinski Loss by dec . Congrads to Ryan Marosy for his first Win of the year by a FALL  in 1:08. Our last two match Jake King Won by Forfeit and then we lost the last one @ 140 to a Forfeit.

Brett Kamin came out first for us Winning by dec.5-3John Segreto loss  a close one 2-3    Rimoun Got back into form by pinning .Dan Shirley Lost a tough match 2-6. Alex Cartelli loss by a pin just as the first period ended.Then came our "YOUNG GUNS"Wow what a turn around. Marc Webber got his first Varsity win  by getting aMD.Followed by Fady Youssef won a tough match 7-6.Matt Paribello won 9-4.Ryan Levinsky Won his first match on Varsity also by a MD.Ryan Marosy and Jacob King both Loss by Falls. Next up Ja'rell Hudgins Won his first Varsity match by Pinning his man in 1:54.Andrew Schittone Loss a MD.The stage was set for the final match   Bears were up 29-28.Last up was Ryan Dalton after the first two periods the score was 0-0. Going into third Ryan scored 1 point with an escape. Then two more for a take down. Back and forth they  battled and in the end Ryan Won the match 3-1 to give the Bears their first win of the season. It was an exciting day to say the least ! I know my voice was horse after that. Way to go boys (oops Men) by coming back and winning a great match . Looked like a completely different team out there, the fire and drive was back . Our next match is away at Piscataway Jan.14th. Lets keep supporting the team and Win Bears Win !!!!!!

              Our boys tried their best but they were no match for the well oiled team of S.P. Tigers. They are a team that loves the cradle and are pros at using them. We started the match at 145 lbs.Our first few matches were no contest. Brett Kamin gave Nick Pauls all he could handle and lost at the final min. 7-6. Dan Shirley also lost by dec. 7-2 ,Matt Paribello refused to give up a Md with a score of 7-0. Our boys knowing they were outmatched never gave up trying . The team handled the lost with respect and good sportsmanship seeing this had me thinking our kids are growing up. By  showing our support and with the fine tuning from our coaches  the kids we grew up with are becoming fine young men. Lets all keep up the hard work it will pay off !!!!

                        Our next match is a Quad match this Saturday @  9:00a.m.

  It was the East Brunswick Bears First home game of the New Season.I got to the match early to watch our future in action. As the Jv team took to the mat I see real hope in the coming years as they tour  apart a up and coming J.P.Stevens squad.Lead by Senior Mike Cioffi who not only pinned his first opponent he came back later and won a second match and won by fall again. (Go going Mike)  . Another senior Justin Stamile also Won by a fall as well as the other following wrestlers:

                            Eric Brown,Dan Gutierrez,Cody Mirenna,Phillip Morrell,Julian Quintin

 And rounding off the group was Greg Krueger with a Win by dec. 3-2. Which in turn sealed the deal , the Bears shut out the Stevens team .Way to go Boys!

                       Our Varsity match didn't fair the same outcome however. Our team started out @ 135lbs we were down 15-0 when Ryan Dalton won his first match of the year with a MD of 12-5. Followed up by Brett Kamin winning by Fall . John Segreto lost a tough match in OT 2-4. Up next  Rimoun Hanna stated it up again by a fall in the first period. Dan Shirley was up next and followed Rimoun with  a pin of his own.Alex Cartelli Lost a close match by 2-3 margin.Mark Webber, Fady Youssef, Ryan Levinsky ,All came up short. Matt Paribello won a dec .5-2 and Ryan Marosy lost a close one 1-3

                 Our next match is this thursday @ South Plainfield . Lets all come out and cheer for our Team. 

Our first match of the season seen a lot of new faces. Though East Brunswick lost the match 50-22, there were a lot of signs for a greater potential. With the loss of many starters last year, the team is working on picking up the team and putting  it towards a winning season. New Prospects; Ryan Levinsky and Matt Shirley are new additions to the team as Freshmen. The starting sophmores; Marc Webber, Fadi Youssef, Philip Morell all showed a promising future in improvement and wins. Starting Juniors this year include; returning starters Matt Paribello and Andrew Schittone along with upcoming starters Ryan Marosy, John Segreto and J'arell Hudgins. Leading the Team this year are Seniors; Brett Kamin, Ryan Dalton, Rimoun Hanna, Dan Shirley and Alex Cartelli. The Bear's show next at the upcoming match at Home, January 6th v.s the J.P Stevens' Hawks. The East Brunswick Tournament is at Churchill starting at 9 this December 30th.Good Luck to all this season.

       The Match Started @ 125lb

         Matt Paribello put up a great win to start the nite with a OT Win 12-10

       Our Young guns tried to follow suit but were stopped by either Major Decision or Pin Falls.Ryan Dalton Lost a close match 4-2. Brett Kamin had his hands full with one of the top wrestlers in our Division at the 160. He fought hard and kept from getting pinned  and took a tech fall.Our bigger weights started to get it going John Segreto fought hard and it paid off he won his match in the last minute  3-2.Rimoun Hanna kept his strong pace going by winning by a fall in 1:03. Dan Shirley also won by MD 12-4 . Alex Cartelli lost a tough one by dec 9-5.

                           Our Next Match is this coming Tuesday @ 7:00p.m. Our first home match of the season  against a tough J.P. Stevens team.   . See you all there .
