Escondido American Little League: 2012 Spring Season Divisions
Escondido American Little League offers several divisions for players of all ages. For first time players the League Age will be a good start to determine which division is best. EALL has a league age and that is the age of the player for the year. The League Age Date is:Player's Age on April 30th, 2012.
If your child is 4 years old on April 30th of 2012 then they can begin T-Ball for the 2012 season. If they are 3 years old on April 30th then they need to wait one more year to begin T-Ball. The entire spring season will go by the age of the player on April 30th of that year.
T-Ball 4-6Year Olds

T-Ball 4-6 year olds - T-Ball is an introduction for young boys and girls to learn about baseball. The entire focus is to have fun and learn about baseball. Each player will play different positions and hit off of a Tee. All players take the field and will bat. No score is kept. T-Ball is played in the Spring Season.
Rookies 7-8 year olds

Rookies 7 to 8 years old- Rookies is designed to be instructional and teach the game of baseball to all of the
players participating. Every player plays a different position and the coach will pitch to each player. Each batter will have 5 pitches to hit the ball. Rookies is designed to be fun and introduce baseball to younger kids. Each player is responsible for a glove, baseball pants, matching belt, socks and cleats. Rookies play during the Spring Season.
Minor B 7-10 year olds

Minor B 7-10 Year Olds - The Minor B division is designed to build skills both defensively and offensively. Having Fun is the major objective. Minor B games are played on a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. A game is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, matching belt, baseball pants, and baseball cleats.
Minor A 9 to 11 year olds

Minor A 9-11 Year Olds - Minor A is designed to be fun but it is the level that becomes more competitive. Players must attend a "try out" prior to the season. Each team is formed by a draft from the Team Manager's selections. Each game has a pitcher for all innings. Minor A games are played on a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. A game consists of 6 innings and is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball. Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is at a higher level. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, uniform matching belt, baseball pants, and baseball cleats.
Majors 10-12 year olds

Majors 10-12 Year Olds -
The Majors Division is the heart of Little League. It is composed of players age 10 - 12. There is a distinct line between the Majors Division and the Juniors Division. A highly skilled player might be shifted up to Majors at age 10 but all 12 year olds must play in Majors and cannot move up to Juniors. Majors games are played on a standard Little League size field with 60ft baselines and 46ft pitching distance. The outfield fence in Majors game is at 190-210 feet. A game consists of 6 innings and is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, belt, socks, baseball pants, and baseball cleats. Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is high.
Juniors

Juniors 13-14 Year Olds - Juniors games are played on a standard size baseball field, 90ft baselines and 60.5ft distance. A game consists of 7 innings and is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball. Juniors will have games at other locations against other organizations.
Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is high.
