Ohio's Best U16 Girls Soccer Team!
The players, coach and parents of the Eagles SC Girls ’91 Blue, welcome you to our website. What an awesome soccer adventure this is!
To catch you up, over 8 seasons now this team has grown and developed into the best girls soccer team in Ohio in our age group. When together, we are Top 10 in the Midwest region and Top 25 in the country. While the past U15 season was just OK results wise, we got to play a lot of really good teams. Mostly we just couldn’t get healthy, frequently having to go with 12 or 13 players. There still were highlights; two tournament wins and a 2nd at Murray Cup. Vegas on Spring Break was a great trip.
Here’s a Top 10 list of stuff this team has done:
- 2006 USYSA Region II Regional Semifinalist
- 2 Ohio South State Cup Championships U12 (’04), U14 (’06)
- 18 tournament titles, 2 runners up
- Compete in Midwest Regional League (MRL) Premier Division
- Traveled to the biggest tournaments (top division WAGS, Raleigh, Vegas, etc… and Disney this December)
- Stability (core players have played together as Eagles 8 seasons with 2 coaches)
- 8 ODP state players, 1 ODP regional player
- 186 wins, 52 losses, 42 ties last 5 seasons against top competition
- U14 record 55-4-8, won 7 of 9 tournaments, Top 5 Region II, Top 25 Nationally
- U15 record 15-11-5, played close 0-1 v PDA Fire (2007 National Finalist) in Raleigh 1-2 v ISC Strikers (2006 National Champion) in Vegas, but too few healthy players
A big part of the fun we are having is that this is not just an all-star team. We’ve grown up together. We care about each other and love playing together. We bleed Eagles blue (no tattoos that we know!) And, we play really good soccer.
Everybody’s excited about this season. We’ve added 3 new teammates Casey Barrett, Amber Kern and Carli Pimm. We are going to Disney and Vegas again. Coach Matt Ogden and all the key players return for 2007-8. Our goal is to work hard, have fun and get a third State Cup Championship. We want to get back to Regionals!
