There is a mandatory meeting for anyone in grades 9-12 who is interested in playing baseball on Thursday 2/16 at 3:15 PM in Rm 2031.  See Miss Bartela if you have any questions.

Eligibility  and physical forms for varsity and JV players are due by 2/29.  Failure to hand these in to the nurse on time may jeopardize your opportunity to try out for the team.

Off-season workouts have begun!  Join members of the coaching staff along with Trainer Phil in the weight room from 4-5 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Join the coaching staff at the field house from 7-8 AM on Saturdays for hitting.  There will also be several dates where we will be using the pool for off-season training starting in December.  Check outside of Miss Bartela's room for the latest updates.

Congratulations to former IHS SS Chris Culver who was drafted in the first round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees, as the 32nd overall pick.  Chris has signed with the Yankees and as of early April 2011, he has remained in Florida at the New Yankees spring training facility where he is working there on an extended spring training. He is scheduled to become a member of the Staten Island Yankees in June 2011.  You can follow his progress by following the link to his Staten Island team on the left.

Congratulations to former IHS P/1B and SUNY Cortland P Matt Tone who was selected in the 14th round as the 432nd pick in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft by the Minnesota Twins.  Matt has signed with the Twins and in 2011 has moved his way up into the Class A Advanced Florida State League where he is playing for the Fort Myers Miracle.  You can follow his progress by following the link to his Fort Myers team on the left.

OBP is computed differently on eteamz than by the pros, so don't hassle your favorite statistician about it!
