Cheerleaders:  Practices will begin the following Monday in 2009, and will be held from 6PM to 7:30PM.

Where Are Practices Held?

Practices are held at Ankeney Middle School. Bantam Football & Cheer practices are held in the field closest to the baseball diamond – Bantam Football will be closest to the fence.  On the south side of the fence; 3rd grade closest to the fence, then 4th, 5th and 6th grades.

When & Where Do We Play Our Games?

Games are played at the 20 different communities in the league. Games are played on Saturdays or Sundays. Our home field is at Ankeny Middle School. Our home schedule is Bantam at 10:00AM; 3rd at 11:30AM; 4th at 1:00PM; 5th at 2:30PM; and 6th at 4:00PM.

Football Players are required to be at the games at least one hour prior to the start, in order to warm up and get ready for the game. Cheerleaders are required to be at the games at least one-half hour before game time. For away games, coaches will work with parents to ensure everyone gets to the game at the correct time.

Other communities where games may be played include: Centerville, Fairborn, Kettering, Huber Heights, Mad River, West Carrollton, Miamisburg, Trotwood, Vandalia, Northmont, Greenville, Meadowdale, Lebanon, Xenia, Wilmington, Jamestown  and Springfield. See the "Links" Page for additional information on these clubs.

How Many Practices Per Week?

Football: Pre-season practices are held 5 days per week, Mon-Fri, from 6-8PM. This continues through the week prior to the start date of the Beavercreek Public School System. Once school starts, practices are on a Mon/Tues/Thurs schedule, from 6-7:30PM.

Cheerleading: Pre-season practices are held 4 days per week, Mon-Thurs, from 6-7:30PM. This continues through the week prior to the start date of the Beavercreek Public School System.  Once school starts, practices are on a Mon/Tues/Thurs scheduled, from 6-7:30PM.

Attendance is important! If your child cannot attend practice, please notify your coach or team mom ASAP.  If too many practices are missed football playtime or cheerleader participation could be affected. Each coach will have attendance rules that will be discussed with parents & children.

Can I Request What Team I Would Like to be On?

No, if you are a new player in the league, your child will be drafted onto a team. Existing players continue with the same team through the age groups.

If We Have Twins, Will They Be On the Same Team?

Yes.

When Will We Receive Our Equipment?

Football: Equipment handout is scheduled for July 25, 2009. Times have been posted. Please click here for more information. EBFC will provide a practice and game jersey, practice and game pants, all necessary pads, a helmet and a mouthpiece.

Cheerleaders: Equipment handout is scheduled for July 25, 2009. Please click here for times. EBFC will provide the uniform skirt and top, cheer socks, a black turtleneck, a hair bow and a cheer t-shirt.

What Else Will We Need to Buy for Our Child?

Football: You will need to purchase football cleats. The shoes must have molded bottoms, not screw-ins. Athletic supporters with a hard plastic cup will also need to be purchased.

Cheerleaders: You will need to purchase cheerleading shoes. The individual teams usually select the specific type of shoe the first week of practice.

Is There Guaranteed Playing Time? (Football Players)

Yes. The EBFC, in accordance with WOJFC rules, requires that every player have the opportunity to play a minimum of five (5) downs per half.  Noncontact plays such as extra-point attempts, field goal attempts and punts at 4th grade (and below) do not constitute a play. Player injury, illness or disciplinary action may affect the playing time rule.

What Else Do I Need to Do As a Parent?

Since we are a volunteer-run organization, parents are REQUIRED to work on their individual team's concession day. This includes covering the entrance fee table, the concessions booth, selling raffle (50/50) tickets, selling spirit wear items and set-up and tear-down of the Football Field. Your team's date will be provided to you as soon as possible.

Are There Any Additional Fees?

Yes. All games (home & away) have a $2.00 entry fee per person. There are some individual team fees that are unique to, and controlled by, the individual teams for drinks, special awards, end of the year celebrations, etc. These fees are NOT part of any funds used by EBFC and will not exceed $15.00 per participant.

What Should My Child Have Before Practice Begins?

Physicals!

Physicals MUST be completed before Football Players and Cheerleaders can practice. If they do not have their physical done before the first day of practice, they are welcome to watch practice, but cannot participate. This is a league rule, and must be followed by all participants.

Football Players must use the triplicate WOJFC physical form, which can be found at either the Beavercreek Library or the City Building, while Cheerleaders may use a copy of the form, which is located on the "Handouts" page of the website. If Football Players do not have the correct triplicate form, they will not be allowed to practice or participate in games.

Practice Attire!

Football Players: For the first week of practice, please wear comfortable clothing for conditioning in the heat – shorts and t-shirts are recommended. Cleats must be worn for all practices. Once uniforms and pads are issued (the second week of practice), pads must be worn for all practices going forward. Athletic supporters with hard plastic cups are also mandatory and if your child does not have one on, he cannot practice. A water bottle is needed for all practices.

Cheerleaders: Please wear shorts or sweatpants (depending on the weather), with tennis shoes and socks. No sandals, heels, platform shoes or bare feet are allowed. Hair must be pulled back from the face/eyes. A water bottle is needed for all practices and a towel for stretching on the grass is recommended.
