Bill has 23 years of coaching experience and has had tenures with the Lansing Heat, Munster Muddawgs and Dyer Fire 12U (state champions). Played for St. Francis de Sales, Kankakee CC and South Suburban College. Currently plays with the Lansing Rockers semi-pro baseball team along with various 12-inch softball teams. Bill is the head softball writer for the Chicago Sun-Times, coming over from the Chicago Tribune in 2011. Along with that he teams up with Beverly Bandits founder/coach Bill Conroy to present the Bandits-Sun-Times all-star game at Rosemont Stadium, home of the Chicago Bandits.
