Welcome to the WV Dusters Home

The WV Dusters girls fastpitch team is ASA and NSA sanctioned from Huntington,West Virginia.  Our organization strives to teach the skills necessary to take our players to the collegiate level. 54 players from the last 10 years have gone to to college scholarsips at schools such as Marshall, Ga Tech, Marietta, Dayton, Wright State, South Florida and Kent to name a few.We finished 2008 with a combined record of 31-9. We strive to teach our girls good sportsmanship and the life skills that will take them to the next level.

2009 Memorial Madness Tournament Entry Info

The Dusters are once again hosting its 7th annual Memorial Madness event at the Boyd Optimist Club in Cannonsburg, KY. Its has now become one of the staple events in this area filling up early each year. Once again we invite you come come to eastern Kentucky and enjoy our event. Link to entry form is below. Team entering before March 1 enjoy a $50.00 discount and organizations with multiple teams receive $25.00 discounts.

Jazel DeAutremont Signs With Shawnee State

Jazel DeAutremont is ready for a challenge no matter what the level of play.DeAutremont is still a senior at Rock Hill and has one more high school softball season, and she is well aware of the challenges ahead this spring.But DeAutremont has guaranteed herself of even more and greater challenges in the future after signing a letter-of-intent to play for the Shawnee State University Golden Bears.

Anna Sommer Signs With Morehead

Most athletes spend their entire high school careers trying for two things — signing to play their sport at the next level and winning a state championship. While very few athletes ever get a chance to actually obtain both ,or even one  of those feats, Point Pleasant senior Anna Sommer has already accomplished both, and she isn’t even halfway through her senior year.

Stinson Inks with Marshall

Sometimes elite talent is achieved by countless hours of hard work, and no one knows that better than Huntington High senior Kayla Stinson. As a result of her commitment and training, the standout softball player signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play at Marshall University. She still has one season of high school softball left to play.

Sparks Signs With Morehead

Sparks Commits

 Russell High School senior Samantha Sparks, one of the state’s top players, is the first 2008-09 recruit for new head coach Holly Bruder. Sparks signed a National Letter of Intent on Friday at a well-attended gathering in Russell’s library. “I was the first one that verbally committed and I’m hoping to be an asset and help build up the program,’’ Sparks said. She had offers from Northern Ky , Valpo and Morehead.

"Alysia brings in many tools as an athlete for this program in the field, at the plate, and on the mound," Marshall assistant head coach Aaron Clopton commented. "She brings a lot of natural speed and power as a pitcher. We are very excited to watch her grow and refine these tools into a solid contribution for this pitching staff."

Blanton Signs with Kent

Blanton earned All-Ohio First Team honors playing third base and catcher at Wheelersburg last season. The two-time All-Southern Ohio Conference First Team member has helped the Pirates to a pair of district and conference titles along with three sectional championships. She made an immediate impact on her squad hitting .524 as a freshman. A three-sport athlete at Wheelersburg, Blanton recently earned all-state volleyball honors and is currently having success in basketball.

"Jessica is an outstanding catcher who is very knowledgeable and vocal behind the plate," Coach Karen Linder said. "She has been an integral part of her highly successful high school and summer teams. Wheelersburg High School has one of the best traditions in the southern part of the state. Jessica has a strong arm and the ability to hit for power. We look for her to both catch and play third."
