UPCOMING FUNDRAISERS
I want to inform all of you of the upcoming fund-raisers that are set up for the next couple of months. Please try to participate in these fund-raisers, as they are for the whole organization and you will have to pay the $25 nonparticipation fee if you do not participate. Remember, you can have someone else fill in for you if you and/or your child can't participate.

Some of you may want to sell the KK Partnership Cards, instead of doughnuts. The cards cost $10, with $5 going to DLB, and are good for 1 free dozens of doughnuts with the purchase of 1 dozen, up to 10 free. I am attaching the doughnut order form and the partnership cards order form. Please keep in mind that we need to sell at least 25 cards to place an order. Please collect all money before the order is submitted to your team parent.

Wal-Mart (15/501) - we are allowed to have a table out front so we can solicit donations from customers as they go in and out of the store. We will let you know the hours as the time draws near, should be around 8am-4pm. We will do this in shifts, please sign up with your team parents. The dates we will be at Wal-Mart is May 26, June 2, and June 16.

Car Wash (Burger King @ Miami and Hwy 70) May 26 - We will need for everyone to sign up for a 2 hr shift during this carwash, see your team parents. We will need to get donations from area stores to help with the car wash. Any cleaning items, buckets, brushes, rags, towels, etc., are all needed. Flyers will be sent via email in advance and can be used for the stores that gives us donations.

Golden Corral (Hwy. 54) - we will be passing out flyers, posting them in GC, and sending emails to friends and family to ask them to eat at GC on May 30. They will need to put their receipts in the box for DLB and we'll get a percentage of all the receipts after they are totaled up. This would be a good time for DLB to fellowship as a group, support this effort and have a good meal at the same time. Flyers will be sent out via email weeks in advance so we can spread the word.

Pizza Hut cards - We still have about 50 cards that we need to sell @ $10 per card. These cards are good for 12 free Med. pizzas. If you would like to get more cards, or if you didn't sell any the first time, see me or Shewahn.

$20 Coupon Books - We were sent an extra box of coupon books (50), that means that all proceeds will go to us. If we can get every girl to sell 1 book we will make $1000 off of this alone. The coupons can be used at stores/restaurants in the Triangle area and don't expire until August 2008.

Keep in mind that we have a sponsorship letter available if you know someone who may want to make a donation or sponsor a team or the entire organization. If you have someone in mind, contact me and I can send the packet to them or I will get you a copy of it.

Brazilian Tour
Dear Friends and Family,

I want to bring you up to date on what is happening in my life. As you know, I recently asked for your prayers of agreement to be selected to the Athletes in Action International Basketball Ministry. Well, not only was I selected, but also have the honor of being the Head Coach for the Brazilian Tour! Two of the most important things in my life have been my athletics and the opportunity to know Jesus Christ in a personal way.

This summer I have a chance to combine those two loves by competing with a Christian basketball team sponsored by Athletes in Action (AIA), the athletic ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). We will be playing in Brazil. Along with my team members, we will be working with AIA/CCC in-country staff to help build relationships with basketball players, fans, coaches, and officials to help accelerate their ministries by sharing the message of Jesus Christ through personal conversations, games, and basketball clinics.

My personal goals for the summer include deepening my relationship with God, learning how to share my faith more effectively, developing leadership skills, and leading people to a personal relationship with Christ. Needless to say, this will require a great investment of my time and energy. However, as the song says, "You can't beat God giving, no matter how hard you try..."

This team is made possible by interested individuals such as you, who are willing to invest in our ministry, and thereby become part of our team as we travel and compete. Each member of our team is asked to raise $3,575, which is a portion of the team’s goal. All funds must be raised by June 1, 2007, in order for our team to report to training camp.

Would you prayerfully consider giving $50, $100, $250 or some other amount to help meet this need?
You will be helping reach people for Christ throughout Brazil as we compete and share His love.

If you would like to pledge your support, please reply back with your pledge amount and mailing information.
I will mail you a brochure with information about Athletes in Action Basketball tours and a self-addressed, return envelope for your gift. Please make checks payable to Athletes in Action or Campus Crusade for Christ, and please do not write my name in the memo line of the check per irs & ncaa guidelines. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me at 919-673-3505.

I want you to know I really appreciate your friendship and support. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Jessica F. Moore
