Dilworth Sports
Every boy at Dilworth is expected to take part in at least one sport offered by the school each term. This sporting commitment generally involves two practices and one game per week. However, for some activities it might mean three training sessions a week and possibly an irregular pattern of competition.
Boys who are involved in sports which are not offered by the school can usually get leave to attend practices, provided there is no conflict and that they can still fulfil their school commitments - including those towards study.
Sports codes which train regularly and which offer inter-school competition include badminton, basketball, climbing, cricket, hockey, rowing, rugby, soccer, squash, tennis, touch football, volleyball and wrestling.
Other sporting activities often available are swimming, fitness (generally running) and weight training. These also demand a 3 times a week attendance, including Saturday mornings.
Whatever sport you are involved in, Saturday leave does not begin until 11am at the earliest. Friday leave is available in Summer terms, but you must return for sport.
