Dunbar to Host 2007 BC Provincial 11 -12 Tournament!!!
July 2007 will see Dunbar Little League celebrate their 50th anniversary by hosting the Provincial Major's tournament. This promises to be a fantastic celebration and we invite all "Dunbarites" to become involved in the activites. The tournament is shaping up to be the best yet because we have an eager group of volunteers who know how to organize a great tournament but most importantly know how to have a good time and fun in the process! If you'd like to help out in any capacity, we invite you to please contact our President at the_lims@shaw.ca
About Dunbar Little League
Dunbar Little League, which begins its 50th year in operation in 2007 is one of the largest little leagues in British Columbia. Our league is known and respected throughout Canada for its spirit of fair play and offering boys and girls, regardless of their level of skill, the opportunity to play baseball, learn some skills and have fun.
Most of the league's games are played at Memorial Park located at Dunbar and West 33rd Avenue. However some T-Ball games are played at Valdez Park and Minor B games are played at Balaclava. In 2006, over 600 boys and girls ranging in age from 4 to 12 participated in games.
During the months of April through June, Memorial Park transforms into a centre of activity within the community. Many families enjoy the warm spring evenings and hot weekend days down at the park. Some bring picnics while many enjoy the city renowned cheeseburgers cooked up at the concession stand.
Whether you're new to the Dunbar area or have been a resident for a number of years, Dunbar Little League baseball is a great way for your son or daughter to have lots of fun and learn new skills.
