Monday, June 14Results of the 2004 NCAA Track and Field Championships
The 2004 NCAA Track and Field Championships were held last week in Austin, Texas. Maryland high school alumni performed well as Westminster alumnus Jesse O'Connell finished 2nd overall in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:46.79.
Additionally, Woodlawn alumnus Joel Brown of Ohio State earned All-American status by finishing 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.43.

Congratulations to triple gold medal winner Vince Walsh who epitomized the legacy of domination by Dulaney distance runners since the 1960's by winning three gold medals in the mile (4:26), 2 mile (9:48) and 800 (1:58).
He is also the first Dulaney athlete to win the Baltimore County Championship since Aaron Reuwer (1:57) in 2001.
Other event winners included Octavia Payne in the high jump (5'0), Chelsey Bush in the mile (5:37), Bill King in the mile (4:48), and Sherrelle Ivey in the 100 dash.
Steph Caplan also tied the school record in the pole vault by clearing 9'0 for the first time.
