Fall Ball 2009
2009 Fall Ball

Fall ball is a growing program that we are proud of in Dublin. Last season we had 5 teams for Dublin. The goal this year is to have two teams in each division: Juniors, Majors, AAA, AA and Single A. I would like to invite as many coaches, teams, and players as possible to continue to stay engaged in the game, polish their improving skills, strengthen weaknesses, and ultimately have fun. It is a non-pressure league and one that is growing throughout the Tri-Valley. We play teams from 3 San Ramon/Danville combined leagues and Livermore. Teams travel to San Ramon and Livermore fields for away games and our home games are held at Emerald Glen. These are the nicest fields in our league!

New this year is the idea of a built team. Managers and coaches are encouraged to bring a team they would like to coach with the players they want on the team. If this option is chosen the manager must collect the applications and fee from each player and deliver to the Division Director. This is the easy part. What we’d like the built teams to do is play at a division higher than they currently play or may play next year. This will ensure better competition for the stacked teams.

Example: any current Major division players can play Juniors level for Fallball. This will be a lot of fun for the Majors kids. There are leadoffs and as a result pickoffs too! Fun for Pitchers and baserunners. It is a larger field – with a greater distance from the mound to the Plate. There are no fences, so those homers in Majors are “just a long out” in Juniors! This is a great way for the Majors kids to get introduced to the game at the Juniors level.

Fallball is a great transition league for many players at all levels. So, if your child wants to play more ball please sign them up. Fee is reduced this year to $60 per player, there are 8 games in the season, and all games are on Sunday afternoons (second Sunday of Sept thru Oct.).
