Duanesburg Little League: Concession Stand
Concession Stand Responsibilities:
For us to make the concession stand work, the league needs each parent/guardian to be a concession stand volunteer once during the season. This year like last year, the league has hired a concession stand supervisor, Stephen Boyd, who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the concession stand, while the parent/guardian volunteers will be responsible for taking food orders, cooking, and performing other duties as needed by the concession stand supervisor.
As previously mentioned, each parent/guardian has only been assigned a single day. It is important that each parent/guardian come to the concession stand at the assigned date/time as it allows for the prep work that has to happen before the concession stand opens that day. Additionally, it is important that each parent/guardian stay until all the games are complete and that the stand is cleaned and restocked. Seems like a lot, but please remember that this effort helps the next day's parent/guardian volunteers and keeps the concession stand's cleanliness at the same level, as you would expect from any other restaurant from which you order food.
Volunteer Substitutes:
If a parent/guardian cannot work his/her scheduled date/time, the league kindly asks that he/she find a replacement. A list of teenagers willing to be volunteer substitutes is available at the concession stand or can be obtained by emailing Walt Silva or Brandy Fall. Please note each parent/guardian is responsible to arrange payment with the teenager hired to work for him/her in the concession stand. Also, note that the normal rate for hiring one of these teenagers is $20.
Concession Stand Schedules:
Below is the 2013 concession stand volunteer schedule. Please note that schedule may occasionally change to account for games not played (e.g., rainouts) and parents/guardians should check the schedule regularly.
In closing, please remember the concession stand is part of the Little League experience and provides the league an additional means of income to improve the experience for future seasons and players.
