  BONEHEADPLAYS

Rules for qualifying:
Must be a stupid decision on players part/ or silly to watch. Defensive errors due to ability are not included(unless it was funny to watch)...

Saturday, September 4
Baserunning Headcases
In first game at YOrk Pa. Tourn. Rookie call-up Billy Petzold who is on 2nd gets thrown out at 3b on grounder to SS... Next inning Veteran Chuck Hill does same thing......

Monday, June 7
Vs. Korey Homes, 2 for the price of 1
In first inning of game 3 Gary Hallman hits a grounder to SS who forgets to throw to 2b to get force out for 3rd out, instead he throws to first to Garys' suprise who is trotting down the line in "Supah-Staaaaah" fashion. The throw goes wide of 1b and hits the dugout column and bounces back to a waiting firstbaseman who tags Gary out five steps from the bag.

At the start of game 4 after Jims warmups on the mound, catcher Greg Bichelle hollars comming down to the waiting Darrell at 2b. However the ball never makes it to 2b instead it finds the back of Jims' head...

Managing Stupidity
Game 2 of Mem Day tournament vs. Woodbine Rebels, Dreamers find themselves up 10-7 going into the bottom of the 7th. The Rebels score 3 runs to tie and with 0 out and a runner on 3rd, both 1b and 2b open Tony decides to walk the next batter. Ok, why not walk another batter to load the bases and get the force at the plate?????   Brain Fart!!!!!!!!!!

Baserunning In The Dark, by Tony P
At HCC Monday night league ball, the Dreamers were trailing by 3 going into the bottom of the 7th. They proceed to string together 5 consecutive hits and tie the game with the winning run on 3b in Tony P. with 1 out and Tommy at the plate. Sounds to good to be true, right... Well Tommy hits a one hopper back up the middle that the pitcher snares and turns to 3b to find Tony off the bag so he runs at him and gets Tony in a rundown between 3rd and home. Just then the lights go out and Tony is tagged out while everyones eyes are refocusing. It would take 15 minutes for the lights to warm up again and play resumed with Randy getting tagged out as he ran over the plate on a Diz 2 out single to left. We are all still asking, why did Tony leave 3b in the first place????   Had he stayed there Diz would have knocked him in after the delay...

Mac's Negative Distance on Throw
Joppatowne -11/02/03 vs Longbombers - Joe Mac charged ball in lc and came up throwing, however ball traveled in opposite direction than he intended. Joe ran back to get ball but ball was at least 20 feet behind him and still rolling so runner scored from 1st on error. Mac set record for longest negative distance throw in Dreamer history.

Saturday, October 18
Combination - Louis & Gary
At Carroll County league Tournament it was like dejavu. First Gary trips over his own feet between 2nd and 3rd and is taged out for 3rd out of the inning in a game we lost by 1 run. Later in final game of the day, which we also lost by 1 run, Louis rounds second headed for 3b and he falls in same hole that Gary fell into, and is taged out for last out of inning. Seems Tony M has left his mark with his fellow teammates.

Thursday, October 16
Hotlon Whiffs
Carroll County Thurs. Fall league, 10/16/2003 vs. Treatshop: Tom Holton at bat in game 2 with Dreamers up 18 - 13 in top of 7th. Tom already has 14 total bases(2nd time in a week he has accomplished that) swings at what would have been ball four and intentionally misses so as to get another pitch to hit, however he forgot about the Whiff Rule, ooops- "K'd"......... Toms' face turned as red as Willys' Socks as he walked back to the bench.

York Pa. Labor Day 8/30/03
Chuck Hill - slept through the beginning of game 2 in his car. Tony P was forced into duty pitching, while Chucky was having sweet dreams.

Vic Dennison - jumping in front of Mike Ridgell, batting out of order. Fortunately, the other team did not notice the mix up.

"D" States 8/2/03
Game 1 vs. State Farm, Gary getting thrown out by a mile at home plate after being waved in by 3b coach Jim, combination of Gary not getting a good jump on the ball that was hit to RF and Jim sending him home instead of holding him with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Game 3 vs. Md. Cougars, with runners on 1st and 2nd Tony P getting doubled off 1b on line drive back to the pitcher by Vic to end the inning...

Game 3 --- Jeff Striking out looking with runner on 3b and 1 out.

OC Tournament 7/19/03
Game 1 - 1st inning Tommy leads game off with a single, Charlie Fouls out(wasted out). Gary hits grounder and trips in batters box due to the mat and sand. SS kicks ball to rf while Gary lays in the sand working on his tan. 15 seconds later the SS throws to 1b to retire Gary.

Game 2 - 7th inning, Dreamers down by 5, Jeff leads off and looks at ball 4, or so we thought. Jeff leaves the batters box and for a moment we thought we had the leadoff batter on base. But Jeff starts walking toward the dugout and 10 seconds after the pitch crossed the batters box the umpire raises his hand, strike 3.... The Umpires explanation was that he did not want to embarrass the batter. Why was Jeff walking toward the dugout anyway????

7/7/2003 At HCC, Monday Night League
Brian Reider - while playing RF, Brian was talking to a passer by when the ball was hit over his head, and Brian is still trying to react to a ball he did not see.

Monday Night HCC league 6/9/03
Tony Picciotto --In first inning of game 2 Dreamers up with 1 out runners on 2nd and 3rd, a dribler is hit back to the pitcher and Tony decides to go home from 3rd and is out by a mile.

5/12/03 Monday Night HCC League
Gary Hallmen - with bases loaded Gary hits the longest base clearing single in Dreamers' History, the team chants "SUPERSTAR" as Gary trots to 1b...

Cedar Lane Tourn. 5/3/03
**Tony sending Vic Home while coaching 3b in game 1. Vic was out by a mile for the last out of the 4th inning, ending rally by Dreamers.

**Gary Tripping the players as they walk down the bench in game 6 when everyone was pretty much spent anyway.

4/21/03 -- Monday Night League @HCC
Joe Mac getting doubled off 2b in 6th inning of game 1.. With 0 outs trailing 12-10 men on 1st & 2nd Reider hits a line drive right at the SS and Mac is caught leaning toward 3b. This is right after I told him from the 3b coaching box to "WATCH THE LINE DRIVE, DON'T GET DOUBLED UP." We went on to lose the game 14-13...

Saturday, April 5
Harford Com College Early Bird
Brian Reider - For hitting 4 over the fence in 3 games with his Miken.

Mike Ridgell - Making the last out of the tournament with his spikes in his hand and the car running.
