Downtown LVSC B95 Gold's run for the NV State Championship was quite a ride! The Boys initially were seeded the South's #3 team, despite being ranked #2 in NV by gotsoccer.
Their 1st game brought a 4-0 result over #7 seed East Valley FC. Needing only a draw against #4 seed Manchester United to advance, the team settled for a 1-1 tie and advanced to the State semi-finals. They were matched against #1 ranked and #1 seeded Neusport Green. DLVSC scored 1st and Neusport tied it up. Our boys scored again and Neusport tied it again. With 10 minutes to play, DLVSC lost a man to his 2nd yellow card. At this time, the 95 Gold Boys rose to a higher level, getting the game-winner while only playing with 10 men.
The Championship game was against Northern NV's #1 seed Reno Sagebrush United. Although DLVSC scored 1st, it became quickly apparent the prior game left our boys a bit drained. We were unable to keep the lead a dropped a 2-1 result.
Congratulations to the entire team!
