71 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

The Dover Men's Softball League is the oldest organized softball league in the state of New Hampshire. Established in 1940, softball is still being played at Guppy Park and going strong!



DOVER vs. ROCHESTER CUP CHALLENGE

Due to excessive rain and booked make-up schedules with both leagues, the 2nd round of the CUP CHALLENGE between Dover and Rochester was not completed.

Rochester held the edge after the first round of the best-of-seven series; 4 games to 3. They also had a commanding advantage in the second round after beating Coolidge Construction and River Bend to go up 6 games to 3 when play was suspended. Due to the lack of compatible schedules the balance of the tournament will not be played.

Rochester has been declared the winner of the 2011 Cup Challenge. Dover wants an asterisk to be placed in the record books next to this event... but would like to congratulate Rochester as the new Champions and to thank them for a fun time.



FUNDRAISER MONEY PUT TO GOOD USE

What happens to the Patriots pool money??? Well $900 of that $1450 that we raised this past season has gone into the upgrade of the new door for the field house.

Unless you beat Crusher to the field... or leave after he does... you may not have even noticed yet.

We cut the concrete door opening to increase the width by 2' and installed a new overhead door. Now the new tractor fits without removing the drag components. No one is more excited than Crusher who has been fighting with the old roll up door for years.

The new door has a lock on the handle and it will be supplemented with a hasp and padlock on the side. That means that two keys will be needed to enter the shed... and one of those keys I need to get to you. I will have a bunch made up and give them to Crusher for distribution.

HALL FAMILY DONATES DIFIBULATOR MACHINE

A member from every team in the Dover league attended a Red Cross sponsered First Aid and Difibulator Class held at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital. By so doing we were given a defibulator machine donated by Shawn Hall's family in his memory.

Special thanks to everyone who attended the clinic and especially to the family of Shawn Hall.

Thanks to all of you we may save someones' life!!!
