TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

ALL players and their parents MUST register their email addresses and their cell phone numbers in order to receive text/email communications from your coaches. We will not be able to make individual phone calls when we have practice or game changes. We will only be using this service.

To sign up:

Go to http://fastpitch.ealert.com and click on "Subscribe".  You will see both the Varsity and the JV team listed under HS (FL), as well as the Douglas Fall Ball Team. Select the group you want to subscribe to and then input your email address and your cell phone number as an email address. If you have more than 2 addresses, you will need to subscribe additional times. You can register as many email addresses and cell phone numbers as you want.

Cell phone numbers MUST be entered as an email address. There is a link to instructions on the page on how to convert your cell phone number to an email address. This is really easy to do. Make sure that you do not put the "dash" between numbers.

Once you register an address, you will receive a confirmation message that you MUST reply to in order to activate your address. If you do not receive the confirmation message within a few minutes, you did not enter your address properly so try again.

Requirements for playing softball:

1) It is imperative that all players have their paperwork completed and turned in by Monday. If we do not receive all of their paperwork before tryouts begin, they will NOT be able to tryout. All of the forms are available on this website at the bottom of this page and under "Handouts" in the left navigation menu. You can also find the list of whose paperwork has been received under "Handouts".
 
2) Players need to understand that to be on the varsity team they need to make a commitment to the team. Therefore practicing or playing with their travel team during the HS season is NOT permitted. If there is a travel ball issue during the season, such as tryouts, you MUST communicate with Coach Brian and Coach Jen about this. An exception can be made, but you must communicate with them. If the coaches find out that a player is practicing or playing with a travel ball team without their knowledge and consent, the player will be suspended from the varsity team.

3) Players who want to play on the Varsity or JV team must participate in the fundraising that is set up by the Booster Club. Due to budgetary issues, it is impossible for the teams to be run without additional financial resources, and each player must fundraise a minimum amount in order to tryout for a team.  Most of the fundraising is conducted in the Fall with a couple of last minute fundraisers in the Spring.
