If there is a need for an additional tryout, it will be the following Monday (11/9) from 3:30-5:30pm.  For players who don't attend Saint Dorothy's school, please arrive as soon as possible if school or class trips limit your availability.

Regardless of which team your daughter is placed on, there are basketball players in all of them and no one should feel slighted or give up the season.   There are many girls who are stars of great "B" teams.  Please speak to your daughter about the possibility of being passed over for the "A" team.  There are 33 girls registered this season.  If your daughter does not make the "A" team, she will automatically be placed on a "B" team and will be contacted by her coach in the near future.  Also, if your daughter does not attend tryouts, she will automatically be placed on a "B" team.

A Fall CYO Mass will be held on Sunday, November 15th, 10AM at St. Dorothy's for all CYO Athletes & Coaches.

The Athletic Association would like to thank Mr. Chuck Regan for his years of service to the St. Dorothy community. Chuck started the boys' basketball clinic 17 years ago and has coached boys' "A" basketball for the past 15 years.

St. Dots’ Varsity Soccer vs. Holy Child

Written by: Jake Miller

You should have been at Steel Field watching the St. Dorothy’s Chargers vs. Holy Child Academy Varsity Soccer Game. The first 7 minutes into the game, Anthony Giacomin took a great shot across the goal to score. Five minutes later Jake Miller dribbled down field and finally scored his first goal of the season. Then HCA had a breakaway right in front of the St. Dots’ goaltender, Kevin Flatley. The forward on HCA took an explosive shot about 6 feet away from Kevin….Kevin was knocked about 2 feet, but still saved the ball! The St. Dots’ attack was moving the ball well with crisp passing throughout the game. Jake Miller took a quick throw-in to Anthony Giacomin, who slid a pass to Jake Callahan who scored on a strong shot to put St. Dots up 3-0.  The St. Dots’ defense played aggressive the entire contest-only allowing 2 goals-special acknowledgement to Brian Sayers, Allysa Saputelli, Allison Downey, Chris Stone, Ryan O’Neill, Caroline Garvey, Dan Rayner and Austin Burke. Michael Salomone and Andrew Gallagher had a great offensive game filled with good passing.

Anthony Giacomin finished the scoring on a breakaway with only 2 minutes left in the game. So, the final score was 4-2, with St. Dots on top, with an early record of 2-3. That’s all for this game summary and don’t forget to check next time for the next Chargers soccer update. Oh yes, one more thing, happy birthday Kevin and thank you Mr. Burke for stepping up to referee.

St. Dots holding a 2-1 lead with the strong defense lead by Alyssa Saputelli. Mid-way through the 2nd half lightning strikes twice when Anthony Giacomin blasts a high arc goal through the back of the net. 7 minutes later Anthony strikes again to record a hat trick.
