Maddogs Pitcher Sean Gildea signs Professional Contract with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League
Gildea becomes the second Maddog player to sign a Professional Contract. During Gildea's 4 seasons with the Maddogs he had more wins (31) and more strike outs (354) than any other pitcher in the League. In 2006 Gildea won the Cy Young Award, as the League's best pitcher. Gildea was named to 3 All Star Teams, 2005-2007 and threw the only No-Hitter in Maddog's history in 2006.

Matt Cooney becomes first Maddog to sign Professional Contract
Catcher, Matt Cooney, became the first Maddog to sign a professional contract. Cooney inked a deal with the Boston Red Sox and reported to the Gulf Coast Red Sox in Fort Myers, Florida on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Matt made his debut at Fenway Park, representing the Maddogs at the 2004 YBL All Star Game. GOOD LUCK MATT!!!

Miles Whitlock Signs Contract with Pittsfield Dukes, Becomes Second Maddog to Play in the NECBL
Pitcher Miles Whitlock, after throwing a complete game, one hitter against the Rockies while striking out 9 was inked to a contract with the Pittsfield Dukes of the NECBL. Miles' Maddog teammates wish him all the luck in the world as he makes his mark in the League.
Maddogs Coaching Staff heading up Emerson College Lions Baseball
Maddog Manager, Dave Hanley, was named as Head Coach of the Emerson College Lions in January of 2005. Coach Jim Taylor joined Hanley on the Emerson Staff in September, 2005.

Cooney Becomes First Maddog to Sign With NECBL
Maddog Catcher, Matt Cooney, has signed with the Manchester Silkworms of the NECBL for the 2005 Season. Matt was named to the YBL All Star Team, hit .287 during the regular season and finished 3rd in Gold Glove voting for Catchers in the 2004 Season. Matt will be sorely missed.
Sean Gildea Throws the First No-Hitter in Medford Maddog History
Playoff No-No: On Saturday, August 19th, Sean Gildea threw a no-hitter against the West Roxbury Devils to give Medford a 2 game to none lead in the best of five semi-final series. Gildea had a perfect game until he walked the lead off batter in the 6th inning. He also walked the leadoff batter in the 7th inning but that was it. Gildea struck out 7 and the Maddogs defense was flawless.
Maddog's Shortstop, Buddy Hanley, joins the Coaching Staff at Emerson College
Shortstop, Buddy Hanley joins Maddog's Coaches Jim Taylor and Dave Hanley as a member of the Emerson College Coaching Staff. The Spring of 2007 will mark the Lion's return to Varsity status. Emerson will be competing in the GNAC(Greater Northeast Athletic Conference).
