Deer Lakes Youth Soccer: Winter Soccer

PISA

Winter Soccer

Many of you may be aware that there is an indoor, winter soccer league that is managed by the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (PISA) located in Cheswick, PA.   Although this is a great opportunity for your child to continue to play soccer over the winter, the Deer Lakes Youth Soccer Club is not associated with any teams that participate in these leagues.

In the past, motivated parents, who have coached for Deer Lakes Youth Soccer, have taken teams to participate in the winter league.  It is completely up to this parent who they ask to be on their team.  They have volunteered their time to organize a team and will set their own rules as to how the team will be operated/managed.  The competition at PISA is generally higher then the recreational soccer in which Deer Lakes participates.

If you are interested in participating in the winter soccer, please see the PISA website for more information:  http://www.pisausa.com/

They have game leagues for U8 (coed), U10 (boys and girls), U12 (boys and girls), U14 (boys and girls), and high school aged children.  The leagues usually run from late October through early April.  Ask your coach, they may know a parent who is organizing a team.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are organizing a team to play in the PISA leagues, DLYS asks that you DO NOT use the jerseys used for our Fall and Spring seasons as your team uniform.  Thank you!!

TOTAL FUTSAL

Deer Lakes Coaches and Players

How do you plan to get your players to the next level over the winter?  Are you looking for something more than the indoor turf games that we've all been playing?  Total Futsal is the Pittsburgh North Hills home for indoor futsal leagues and skills clinics for U8 - High School players.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is a fast paced version of indoor soccer emphasizing footskills and ball control on a small field.  There are no boards.  There is no turf.  The game is played on a "sport court" surface with a special low-bounce ball.  Coaches love futsal because it quickly develops a player's footskills and decision making.  Players love futsal because it's constant action!
