The new Little League bat rules went into effect for 2018. NO previously approved bats will be permitted to be used in any Little League game or practice. Please make sure if you are buying a BASEBALL bat that it is stamped with this USA baseball logo. This does NOT include Softball.

Little League International has implemented the anticipated bat standards going forward in 2018. ALL bats from previous years will not be allowed in 2018. This affects all baseball Minors-Juniors. Softball is unaffected, and remains the same as previous years. Tball is affected, but previous bats may be certified by the league. We must buy all new baseball bats as a league as well. For more info go to:

Michigan was the 39th U.S. state to enact a law that regulates sports concussions and return to athletic activity.  The law went into full effect on June 30th, 2013.

The sports concussion legislation requires all coaches, employees, volunteers, and other adults involved with a youth athletic activity to complete a concussion awareness on-line training program.

The organizing entity must provide educational materials on the signs/symptoms and consequences of concussions to each youth athlete and their parents/guardians and obtain a signed statement acknowledging receipt of the information for the organizing entity to keep on record.

The law also requires immediate removal of an athlete from physical participation in an athletic activity who is suspected of sustaining a concussion. The student athlete must then receive written clearance from an appropriate health professional before he or she can return to physical activity.

This is non negotiable, and will be strictly enforced. Coaches, and volunteers will need to complete the online Heads up Concussion Training, and print your certificate at the end prior to the start of the season. There will be forms for your players and parents to sign as well in your coaches packet.
