Dixie Boys/Majors Baseball Umpires: Duties of District UIC
Duties of the District Umpire-in-Chief
The duties of the District Umpire-in-Chief shall be those as outlined in the official guidelines of Dixie Boys/Majors Baseball Inc. with the additional duties as follows:The District Umpire-in-Chief shall keep a registry of all umpires, and prior to the first tournament s/he shall send copies of this registry to the State Umpire-In-Chief and the District Director. This registry shall be a source of umpires for league officials and tournament directors, and shall be kelp for three consecutive years for tournament qualification purposes.
The District Umpire-in-Chief shall attend the District Tournament Credentials and go over the rules with the District Director and Coaches. He/she shall verify that each umpire selected to officiate in the tournaments with-in his/her district has met the criteria and is a current registered umpire in the Dixie Boys/Majors Baseball Program.
The District Umpire-in-Chief shall keep records of all moneys received and disbursed and shall give an annual report to the State Umpire-in-Chief.The District Umpire-in-Chief shall hold annual clinics within his/her districts and register, test and qualify each umpire that passes the test. Test shall be given every two years while each umpire shall pay his/her fee every year.
The District Umpire-in-Chief shall attend as many games as possible for the purpose of gathering information that will help in deciding qualifications for Tournaments.The District Umpire-in-Chief shall hold no other office in the organization from District level and above. S/he shall hold no office in any other youth baseball organization that would be considered in competition with the Dixie Boys/Majors Baseball program.
