Proposed District Pin for 2010
California Little League District 51 is located in the Northeast area of Los Angeles County, most of Kern County, Mono County and Inyo-Kern county. District 51 is one of the largest Little League Districts (land wise) in the United States. District 51 starts with the city of Acton in the south and extends to Mammoth Lakes and Bridgeport in the north. There are approximately 6,000 boys and girls playing baseball and softball in 18 different and distinct Little Leagues. The girls Big League softball team won the World Series in 1996 and 2005, were runners-up in 2000, and have participated in the World Series in Kalamazoo in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008 (eight of the last nine years - six consecutive years). In addition the Parkview Senior softball team won the World Championship in 1997 by defeating the eight time champions from Florida. The Parkview 1995 Major Softball team finished 2nd to Waco, Texas in the World Series held in Oregon, and the 2003 Parkview Junior Softball team participated in the Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington. District 51 has either won or participated in every Girls Softball World Series held by Little League Baseball, Inc. With a second place finish in the Western Regional Tournament by the Pamldale Senior Baseball team in 2005, it appears that District 51 Baseball is also ready to break through to a World Series berth.
