2009 All Star Tournament

09 All Star Logo The 2009 District All Star Tournament is underway at various host fields around the district. The District level is the first level of the Little League All Star Tournament. The winners of the District level will advance to the Section Level. Below is current information about the tournament. Be sure to check back for updated information on a regular basis. Good luck to all the participants in the tournament.

Mike and his crew have taken some great shots of players in the District All-Star Tournament. 2009 All Star Baseball Tournament Levels
Little League 70th Logo Ever wonder how those teams get to the Little League World Series on ESPN in late August? For many of those parents of All Stars who aren't quite sure where your next game will be. We have listed all the various 2009 tournament levels for each division.

Little League All Star Tournament Level Information
District Level
We host a double elimination tournament with the 14 Little League teams that are in our District. The District tournament runs June 28th - July 14th. Check the brackets for host locations. The winner of the District 33 tournament advances to Sectional level.

Section Level
We are in Section 6, which includes the following Districts: District 31, District 32, District 33 and District 70. The games will be played July 18th - July 23rd. District 32 is hosting the games in the Mira Mesa Claremont area. The winner of this tournament will advance to the Divisional level.

Southern California Division (State)
California Division III is made up of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Southern California has been divided into two sub-divisions. We are in the South and that includes sections 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Sectional winners will play in the sub-division from July 25th - July 30th. District 32 will host this sub-division Claremont area. The winner of the sub-division will advance to play a best two out of three with the northern sub-division winner from August 1st through August 3rd. District 40 in Northridge Ca. will host the sub-division playoff. The winner of this playoff will advance to the Western Regional level.

Western Region
2 Divisional winners and the 4 State Champions will play August 7th - August 16th in San Bernardino Ca. The winner will advance to the Little League World Series.

Little League World Series
8 US Regional winners and 8 International winners play August 21st - August 30th in the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania.


10/11's All Star Tournament Level Information
District Level
Our District tournament runs June 28th - July 14th. The winner of the District tournament advances to Sectional level.

Section Level
The games will be played July 18th - July 23rd. District 70 is hosting these games at Vista Oceanside area. The winner of this tournament will advance to the Divisional level.

Southern California Division (State)
All Sectional winners play in a sub-division July 25th – July 30th. District 42 in Bonita Chula Vista area will be hosting the sub-division. The winner of the sub-division will advance to play a best two out of three with the Northern sub-division winner from August 1st through August 3rd. District 42 will also host the sub-division playoff. This tournament ends at this level.


9/10's All Star Tournament Information Level
District Level
Our District tournament runs June 28th - July 14th. The winner of the District tournament advances to Sectional level.

The District tournament runs June 28th – July14th. The winner of the District 33 tournament advances to Sectional level.

The games will be played July 18th - July 23rd. District 70 in Vista Oceanside area is hosting these games. The winner of this tournament will advance to the Divisional level.

Southern California Division (State)
All Sectional winners play July 25th - July 30th in the sub division tournament hosted by District 33 at Murphy Canyon Damato Field. The winner of the sub-division will advance to play a best two out of three with the northern sub-division winner August 1st - August 2nd by District 33 at Murphy Canyon Damato Field. The winner will advance to the Junior League Western Regional.

Western Region
12 State winners will play August 4th - August 11th in Aliso Viejo Ca. The winner will advance to the Junior League World Series.

Junior World Series
8 US Regional winners and 8 International winners play August 16th - August 23rd in the Junior League World Series in Taylor Michigan.


Senior All Star Tournament Information Level
District Level
The District tournament runs July 1st - July 16th. The winner of the District 33 tournament advances to Sectional level.

Section Level
The games will be played July 18th - July 23rd. District 31 is hosting these games in Poway area. The winner of this tournament will advance to the Divisional level.

Southern California Division (State)
All Sectional winners play July 25th - August 2nd. District 24 in Riverside will be hosting the games. The winner of this tournament will advance to the Western Regional level.

Western Region
12 State winners will play August 4th - August 11th in Ontario Ca. The winner will advance to the Senior League World Series.

Senior World Series
8 US Regional winners and 8 International winners play August 16th - August 22nd in the Senior League World Series in Bangor Maine.

We are proud to have 3 umpires from our District chosen for post-season assignments in 2009. This is special honor to be recognized by your peers. Thank you for your hard work and we are very proud of you.



Bob Cordero:   From Chollas Lake Little League has been invited to umpire at the Big League Softball Regional in Palmdale, California (District 51).


Mike Williams:   From Tierrasanta Little League has been invited to umpire at the Big League Western Regional Tournament in Bremerton, Washington (District 2).

Pete Jones: From Sunshine Little League has been assigned to umpire for the Senior Softball Regional Tournament in Missoula, Montana (District 2).

District 33 would like to share the accomplishments of three boys from our little league family who on June 28th went out and won the 40th Annual OMBAC Junior Over the Line World Tournament 9-11 age division. The 3 boys in the picture represent Mission Trails, Rolando and San Carlos Little Leagues.

The boys from left to right are: Jacob Balesteri (MTLL), Jack Stronach (Rolando) and Darren Henry (SCLL). Way to go guys!!
