Bethany Stevenson, a four year Varsity player from Prattville High School, signed a National Letter of Intent to Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina. She has been recruited as a setter for the Division II School, and is looking forward to stepping into the starting setter role as a freshman. Bethany was recruited by Coach Brenda Skeffington from Brevard College while playing for Dig It! Alabama Volleyball Club, a USVA club out of Montgomery, in a tournament at Clemson, SC. She is in her fourth season of club play with Dig It! Alabama and looks forward to a successful senior year. Bethany has a stellar volleyball resume including: the #2 setter in Alabama for Assists per game in 2008; the #4 ACE server for 2008 in the NATION (per MaxPreps website) and #1 for Alabama. She has made the AHSAA Record books as #3 for “Most Aces in a Season”, and also has secured the #3 spot in the AHSAA Record books for most career aces. Bethany set a school record for most kills in a season her sophomore year as an outside hitter, and then resumed setting her junior and senior year. She has the most assists for a single season in Prattville’s volleyball history, and lead the Prattville Lady Lions to their most successful season this year. Bethany was selected as All Metro Player for 6A her junior and senior year. Academically, Stevenson was an honors student and was on the National Honor Roll, as well as being a member of the National Honor Society. She plans on majoring in sports medicine & team management.
