The Dubuque Independent Football League is very focused on:

  1. Academics
A primary focus of the DIFL is academics.  Players must maintain good academic progress to remain eligible to compete. Players with strong academic performance can qualify for and be named to the Academic All-American Team!  2009 Marked our first Scholar Banquet held at the beautiful Senior High School auditorium and hosted by Gary Dolphin, the Voice of the Hawkeyes, with special guest speaker Mike Elgin, former West Dubuque and Iowa Hawkeye standout player and Academic All-American.
  2. Safety
Safety is very important. As a part of the very specific rules we  follow, there are age and weight requirements that must be met to be eligible. For safety reasons players compete with others according to both age and weight criteria.
