Chicago High School Baseball Alumni Hall of Fame and Game to Launched City Wide Education Outreach Program to Promote Healthy Lifestyle.

Chicago– The Chicago High School Baseball Alumni Hall of Fame and Game.

Today announced the launch of a City Wide education and outreach program to promote healthy and active lifestyles for all individuals in Chicago Public Schools , while educating students about the dangers Gangs, Guns and Drugs.

The new education program will commence this summer through the Alumni’s outreach programs, primarily geared toward all middle and high school students, including athletes. Alumni members will deliver messages of the negative effects of Gangs, Guns and Drugs among youth.

The cornerstone of the program will feature the first City Wide Chicago High School Alumni Baseball Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, August 26, in Chicago’s Jackson Park.   

The game will feature players who signed and/or played Major League Baseball also the event will feature profiles and photos of Alumni members who have made the commitment to the lessons of healthy living.

Chicago High School Alumni Baseball Hall of Fame Game members will coach in this year Kirby Puckett Youth Baseball League for ages 13-15 as part of a city wide outreach to schools and youth athletic programs.

The Chicago High School Alumni Baseball Hall of Fame Game members hope to raise the public awareness in today's society. Other objectives of the program include: educating audiences about the short- and long-term affect of Gangs and Guns use; providing guidance for developing healthy lifestyles and injury prevention; empowering students, parents and athletic administrators with the ability to identify and providing strategies to help individuals of all ages make informed decisions about their own health and in influencing the health of others.

The Alumni Game will be a fundraising campaign for the outreach in school program and will continue this fall in 10 High Schools reaching audiences city wide with meaningful education.

Kirby Puckett Youth Center, Inc. a local not for profit educational group seeks support to relive history.

Kirby Puckett Youth center, Inc. and local businesses has co-sponsored this yearly event for the past Five years, raising enough money to allow sixty (60) Illinois student athletes to relive the days of the Negro Leagues.

Each year youth from Illinois gather together to share sports experiences with each other. This year's event promises to be unlike any other in sports. This program will present an opportunity for these youth to participate in a video documentary / oral history of the National Negro League.

Sixty (60) Illinois student athletics will play in this year's World Series games (Seven Games in Seven Nights tracing the tracks of the National Negro League from Chicago to Cooperstown.

    Players will be decked out and dressed in 1940's & 50's tailored zoot suits, the group will recapture the moment loss forever by playing local athletics in an historic Negro League style baseball game, using the colorful Negro League uniforms of each city to highlight the event.

Birmingham, Ala. (Black Barons)
Atlanta, Ga. (Black Cracker)
Washington DC (Elite Giants)

Phil.Pa. (Stars)
New York City (Brooklyn Giants)
Baltimore, Ma. (Black Sox).

Players will be available for dailies, and live feeds.
