Kirby Puckett Baseball League announce The Black Baseball World Series 2012

Kirby Puckett Baseball League/Kirby Puckett Youth Center, Inc. a local not for profit educational group to relive history.

Kirby Puckett Baseball League and local businesses has co-sponsored this yearly event for the past Five years, raising enough money to allow sixty (60) Illinois student athletes to relive the days of the Negro Leagues.

Each year youth from Illinois gather together to share sports experiences with each other. This year's event promises to be unlike any other in sports. This program will present an opportunity for these youth to participate in a video documentary / oral history of the National Negro League.

Sixty (60) Illinois student athletics will play in this year's World Series games (Seven Games in Seven Nights tracing the tracks of the National Negro League from Chicago to Cooperstown.

Players will be decked out and dressed in 1940's & 50's tailored zoot suits, the group will recapture the moment loss forever by playing local athletics in an historic Negro League style baseball game, using the colorful Negro League uniforms of each city to highlight the event.

Birmingham, Ala. (Black Barons)
Atlanta, Ga. (Black Cracker)
Washington DC (Elite Giants)
Pittsburg, Pa. (Crawfords)
Phil.Pa. (Stars)
New York City (Brooklyn Giants)
Baltimore, Ma. (Black Sox).

Players will be available for dailies, and live feeds.
