Fundraising for Uniform Rotation - Joint Project
One of Doherty Athletic's projects this year is to raise money for uniform rotation - up until this past year, Doherty Athletics was not able to help its teams buy new uniforms because of budgetary restrictions; although nothing has changed monetarily, Doherty Atletics has taken on some responsibilities in concession stands at Garry Berry Stadium during home football contests in order to create a pool of funds from which we can draw from to supplement coaches in their need to buy uniforms.
Because of this, we need parent and athlete support to work throughout the year and our first commitment begins on September 4th at Garry Berry. Keeping in mind the number of players on each type of team and the proximity of each team to receiving new uniforms, Doherty Baseball has been asked to provide three volunteers during the upcoming fall season which will fulfill our portion of the commitment and project.
I have our three volunteers for a home game already, but some of the spots haven't been filled for the game on September 4th and we need to help cover if possible. If any parents or high school students would like to volunteer, please email me at kimberlypatrice@msn.com or call me at 332-9210. I just need your name and a contact number for you.
Thank you for your support of this joint Doherty Athletic's project! If you have any questions regarding this project, please do not hesitate to email me.

Admission Fees to Varisty Baseball Games Waived
I am pleased to announce that our new head coach, Chris Solarek, and the Doherty Athletic Director, Chris Noll, have made a joint decision to not charge admission to Doherty's home games during the upcoming season.
If you see them, please thank them for waiving the admission fees that have been charged for home games in the past.
We are working on other options for fundraising this year in lieu of not charging admission fees, more details to follow...

Banners
All players and parents are encouraged to support the baseball program by finding businesses or sponsors to buy a banner. Let's cover the fence end-to-end this year! A lot of businesses would like to support Doherty baseball; all you have to do is ask! These banners are displayed for three years and are $600. A flyer is posted in the handout section with all of the information. Please contact Ken Barr at 243-3272 or kbarr@hercmail.com if you would like to purchase a banner or have any questions about the banner program. -K Bingman
