Registration FAQ for Fall & Spring Ball

FAQ
How much is registration?

Fall Ball Regular Registration is $40 and a discount of $5 given for each additional sibling.

What does the registration get me?

Generally, registration fees cover a portion of the costs of operating the program, including costs of the uniform, playing equipment and supplies, umpires, field maintenance and supplies, insurance premiums, utilities, administration expenses, etc.

DGSA will provide each player a uniform that she can keep at the end of the season.

Is there a fundraiser this season?

Yes, there is a fundraiser in Spring Ball. There will be a buyout option, inquire for details.

When can we expect to hear from a coach?

Coaches will pick up their rosters one to two weeks prior to the start of the season.

How are the teams chosen?

Teams are formed by draft process.

What equipment does my daughter need?

Your child will need to have a glove and appropriate shoes (rubber cleats are recommended) to play softball. You may purchase a bat for your daughter, but it is not required. The bat must be an ASA approved bat for softball.

For girls 10 and under, it is strongly suggested that you wait until the season starts and get a recommendation from your coach on length and weight of the bat.

For safety and head lice concerns, DGSA strongly suggests girls supply their own batting helmets. A chinstrap is required. DGSA also
strongly suggests girls to purchase a helmet with a facemask.

When will games start?

Refer to the schedule in the handout section.

What days could my daughter’s games be?

Weekday evenings for Spring Ball and Saturdays for Fall Ball

What days and times could practices be held?

Practice days, times and locations are left up to each individual coach.
