Check out the web sites for the Great Lakes Basketball Association (GLBA)   and the Tri-State Soccer League (TSL).

The GLBA is a NEW semi-professional basketball league based out of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Presently GLBA hopes to have 8-16 member franchises and is seeking individuals/groups to organize, own, and manage franchises in their communities.   Each franchise is required to have a men's basketball team, women's basketball team, and cheerleading squad.

The TSL  is a NEW semi-professional soccer league based out of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Presently TSL hopes to have 6-12 member franchises and is seeking individuals/groups to organize, own, and manage franchises in their communities. Each franchise is required to have a men's soccer team, women's soccer team, and cheerleading squad.

The Candy Lady

Hi,
This is Kim with The Candy Lady, I would like to send your group some fundraising info to review. We have several fundraising programs from which to choose, including our Pop Warner bars, as well as personalized window clings and magnets with your logo. Would you send me an address so I can send some information to your group? Also, how many players do you have? Who is in charge of fundraising?

                                          Thanks for your help,
                                          Kim

Skillman Center for Children

Hello all. I am trying to contact Bruce McClellan so we can update our website for parents and educators. I have been calling him for many moons now and his father tells me he works and will not take any messages.
Please tell Bruce to call us at 313-872-7166 or 313 873-5637 so I can know about the kids programs you offer. Thanks and have a blessed day!!!!
Maria

Semi-professional is a cross between the adult Y-Center type leagues and the professional level leagues.

Everybody involved retains their amateur status, with little to no pay being received. From this aspect it is not any different than the Y-Center or city recreation type leagues. IT IS A HOBBY!

While a hobby, even for ownership, each franchise is a legally registered business that is owned and operated seperate from their league.

To offset the costs of doing business each franchise will attract fans to their games, sell tickets for admission, sell advertising & sponsorship options, sell game programs, sell souveirs, sell 50/50 tickets, etc.. From this aspect it is no different than the professional level.

The Candy Lady

Hello. We wanted to remind you to get your order in early for the Pop Warner Chocolate bars for your fundraiser this season. Even if you don't want delivery until August we need your confirmation so we can stack you for delivery. This will insure you receive your order on time before the big rush.

Please let me know if you have any questions and don't forget to visit our site and take a look around. We also have car magnets, window clings and bumper stickers this year! Have a great season!
