DeSoto Belles 18U Fastpitch Softball: News: ASA Heartland Showcase- Hidden Valley

The ASA Heartland Showcase bracket play was rained out.  During pool play the Belles ran into some stiff competition against a tough Missouri Rattlers team.  Although the Rattler pitcher was one of the more dominant pitchers in the entire tournament, the Belles hung tough.  The Ark. Phenix took advantage of Belles inability to find gaps while at bat as well as a handful of defensive errors and shut out the Belles.  In a previous tournament, the Belles handled the Phenix with ease, so it was just one of those games.  A back and forth affair against the Renegades was the theme in the third game and although the Renegade bats were HOT, the Belles went down to the wire with them.  Again, the Renegades were a team the Belles beat soundly in a previous tournament.

The players that participated in the camp performed well and there were plenty of college coaches roaming the fields both during the camp as well as during the games.  The Belles players and coaches were very happy with the attention they received from the coaches and were generally satisfied with the individual play.  There will be plenty more opportunities for the Belles to strut their stuff in the upcoming weeks.
