DeSoto Belles 18U Fastpitch Softball: News: Capital City Showdown Tournament (I-70 Series)- USSSA

The Belles participated in a great tournament with many outstanding teams including some Gold teams in Topeka at the Capital City Showdown.  Although the Belles did not win the tournament, they displayed a lot of grit and even some power in some of the games.  Rachael Zdeb hit two (yes, TWO) home runs in the game against the Wheatridge Colorado Storm including a walk-off homer to win the game with two out and two strikes in the Belles last at bat.  Rachael's huge shot earlier in the game kept the Belles in it and her line drive that cleared the fence sealed the win.  There were many outstanding plays by the Belles players against very stiff competition (and a VERY stiff wind).  The Originals Gold and the Sizzle Gold both included some current college players but the Belles showed well against both teams.
