VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS NEEDED & WELCOMED
Volunteers are a very big part of the Derby Pop Warner Program. We ask that every parent/guardian volunteer at the concession stands during practice and especially during the home games. We have 4 home games a season. During the home games volunteers are needed all day long from as early as 10:30 am to as late as 10:30 pm. We need parents to cover the following: 2 gates / collect for 50/50 raffle (2 persons) / Field chains or down markers (3 persons) / MPR on field (2 persons) / concession stand (4 to 6 persons) for the whole day of coverage of all five games that day. The proceeds from the gates, 50/50 and concessions, cover the expenses of the day, which includes the officials for all 5 games, the EMT's that are there if a child is injured during a game. Most importantly the funds generated help keep the cost of our programs registration one of the lowest in our league. This program can't be a success if we don't have the volunteering of everyone.
Please make every effort to give a few hours of your time to help our program and your child be a great success.
To volunteer please contact any board member or coach during your child's practice time to sign up.
We thank you in advance for all your support.

Richard A. Grande Memorial Scholarship
Derby Pop Warner has established a scholarship in memory of Richard A. Grande. Richard was a lifelong resident of Derby and served as mayor from 1986 to 1991. He was also a Derby Pop Warner football coach and served on the Pop Warner Board as Vice President. He was an avid supporter of the Derby Pop Warner program for many years. As he watched his daughter participate as a Derby Pop Warner Cheerleader, his support and passion for the program became stronger. Rich became a fixture at the all the Pop Warner events and maintained that loyalty for many years.
One scholarship will be awarded annually to a Derby High School graduate who participated in the Derby Pop Warner Program and has given back to the program by volunteering with the same spirit as shown by Mr. Grande. The recipient will be chosen by the Grande family.
Donations to the scholarship fund can be sent to Webster Bank, 500 New Haven Avenue, Derby, CT 06418. Checks should be made payable to "Pop Warner Football of Derby" with "Richard A. Grande Scholarship" in the memo field.
