DENVILLE PAL END-of-SEASON PARTY

All are invited (Players, Family's, Siblings, Coaches, Board Members, and lifetime fans/members) to the end-of-season party.

During elections held on Feb 28 the following board positions were passed.

Board Vice President - Co-Chaired  Dennis O'Connor / Harriett Rex  (midgets/fundraising)

Secretary - Rosa Moskowitz 

Director of Ice Procurment  - Mike Schnuriger

Registration - no nominations were received, the position is now vacant - to be appointed by Liz Dreisbach before the start of next season.

The board thanks Doris Diaz (registrar) her many years of service on the board and various committees to keep Denville Hockey a great choice for families.

Taking orders NOW til Nov 30

This year we are bringing back the Denville Hockey Blankets.  These blankets are a very high quality, very warm, & very soft blanket that look great and will last for many, many years.  The blanket is a heavy double weave blue & white on the front with the hockey logo, and a blue, white, brown weave on the back.  Some of our older players have these blankets for 6+ years and they still look great - they wear very well.  Great holiday gift for your little NHL'r.  Cost is $45.00

Team & Individual Pictures - Monday, October 25th  

Pictures that are used for our Sponsor Placques, and also Individual Pictures (great for little NHL'rs scrapbooks) will be taken at Aspen before practice on Monday Oct 25.  Please wear or bring your Jersey.  We will have extra Jerseys on-hand for anyone who does not yet have a Jersey (older players if you have an extra/outgrown Jersey pls bring for anyone who might need one).

Fundraising Events Coming Up

Can Shake - October 23rd & November 20th 

Two can shakes will be held this fall (with the hope of avoiding the very cold drive that we usually run during the superbowl).  Please sign-up for one of the below can shake dates.  You can sign-up on the form on the attached link, or with your team manager.  Hours & Locations on the below dates will be distributed soon.  There will be a $25 opt out fee if your family prefers a cash donation rather then participation in the shake-the-can cash drive.

Wreath Sale:  November 1 til November 20th

The wreath sale is back this year, this is one of our most popular fundraisers and once sold you will find your friends & neighbors asking every year.... is Hockey doing the wreaths again?  Each player is asked to sell 10 wreaths to friends & family (more if you can do it), we take orders until the week before thanksgiving and wreaths are delivered the week after Thanksgiving so you can decorate your home in time for the holiday season. 

Table at the Farmers Market:  Sunday November 7th

If you have not visited the Farmers Market on Sundays at the commuter parking lot yet this season then you have missed some great produce sold by our local farmers, bakers, and dairys.  The markets allows local non-profit organizations to secure a table for one date each season.  Denville Hockey has reserved a table for Sunday Nov 7th.  We plan on taking orders for wreaths, collecting cash donations (can shake), and selling the Charitymania tickets.  This is in addition to the individual sales that each participating family must do, this is a great chance for our fundraising efforts to reach beyond the hockey familys and bring in revenue from other sources.

These are the lottery tickets that were sold last year, they practically sell themselves and are very easy to manage.  The team sells tickets, and registers them on a site, each week you have a chance to win and will be notified by email if you are a winner.  More info to come..

General Membership Mtg & Jersey Ordering:  Monday, October 4, 2010 

General Membership Meeting will be held at Aspen Ice in the Trophy room during the regular Monday evening practice.  Planned start is 7:45pm

Orders for Jerseys will take place the same evening.

Registration Due:  Now  - payment due by Sept 1

All registrations due ASAP, so that we may declare our teams to MCYHL.  

Practice Begins:  Monday, September 13th  - Aspen Ice Randolph

Termites/Mites/Squirts:  7:30pm - 8:30pm

PeeWee/Bantam:              8:30pm - 9:30pm

 General Membership Mtg:  Tentative date,  October 13th  before/after practice to be confirmed.

The board thanks Stephanie Lyden (who resigned earlier this year) and Bob Halm for their many years of service on the board.  The kids will still see Coach Bob on the ice as he continues his dedication towards the kids & the game as one of our valued coaches.
