Tue 1/10/12 1pm Cloquet Invite I would like to invite your teams to the CEC Invitational being held at Spirit Mt on Tuesday, Jan. 10th. This will be a skate race starting at 1pm. I won't have the course finalized until Friday but it will be multi-laps over sections of the downhill and bunny hills adjacent to the Chalet much like the course used in the Denfield race. I have been assured that the course will be safe even if Spirit needs to close a run. The target is to have ~5k for varsity and JV and ~2.5k for JH. Race bib pick-up will open at 12pm with a coach's meeting at 12:30pm. Bib pick-up will be in the main Chalet nearest the south end. Coach's meeting will be held next to the building by the finish line immediately south of the Chalet. Fees will be $5 payable to CEC Nordic. Spirit Mt. has several places to buy food so that should not be a problem. Buses will need to park in the parking lots so teams should plan to use the Chalet. There is plenty of ro om. Spirit Mt. Note: Individual start times should be available by Monday Dec. 12th.

We will be starting and finishing by the alpine chalet. The loop is estimated to be about 1k. Varsity and Junior Varsity will do 4 laps. Junior High will do 2 laps. Please bring someone along to help your skiers keep track of their laps. Due to the nature of the course on the downhill all skiers must be in control of their skis. If you have skiers that you want to bring along for the experience that won’t be racing we can find a job for them.

Feel free to enter anyone in the Jr. High race. Only Jr High racers who are 9th grade and younger will be considered for Jr. High awards.

Warm up and cool down: Due to limited space we cannot have anyone on the course once the varsity boys start their race. After the varsity boys start all warm ups need to be on foot. It is a small enough loop for coaches to walk out in boots.

The alpine chalet will be open for a gathering spot and bathrooms.

Results will be made available ASAP after the races are completed. Copies will be e-mailed out later in the evening.
