2013 Summer Camps and Activities
Below are camps, leagues, and tournemants offered in the Delaware area during the summer of 2013. These listings are not associated with the Delaware Lacrosse Foundation, but are offered as information for people interested in finding lacrosse activities.


Blue Hen Camps
Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps
For the past 33 years the Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps has been directed by Bob Shillinglaw, Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Delaware. The Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps offers an instructional teaching camp with experienced youth, high school and college coaches. The MVP Blue Hen Youth First State Tournaments are competitive tournament with 8 games over a three day period. The MVP Blue Hen High School Tournament is a competitive high school tournament with college coaches in attendance giving high school players an early summer recruiting opportunity

Blue Hen Instructional Camps (Boys ages 8-18)
Blue Hen Lacrosse Camp. Best instructional - competition camp in the country Three 2 and 1/2 daily instructional sessions ensure that your child will receive the maximum amount of lacrosse instruction. Campers are grouped according to age, size, and skill level. Instructional emphasis will be on positional & skill play in the morning, team concepts in the afternoon, with games played at the end of each session and in the evening. There will be special individual emphasis on face-off and goalie mechanics. The camper to coach ratio will be 6:1 ensuring maximum exposure to the game of lacrosse. Players can attend as individuals. Teams are also encouraged to attend.

Hot Beds - 2011
Battle of the Hot Beds Lacrosse Camp
The 2013 Battle of the Hotbeds is a competitive recruiting team camp. Each team will play 12-14 games in a 4 day period. Check in is between 10:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 and the camp is over on Wed, July 24 depending on the times of each team games between 11-12:30 p.m..

Every team plays 2 games on Sunday and Wed and 4 games on Monday and Tuesday. There will be a short instructional session on Sunday to start the camp. Top 4 teams will be in the Final Four Wednesday. There are 3 All Star games (rising Fresh-Soph and rising Juniors, Rising Seniors) on Tuesday evening which is attended by a large number of college coaches. The All Star teams are selected by a panel of college coaches. Each year the camps has been averaging over 80-100 college coaches in attendance.

Housing options are either hotel/day ($380) or University of Delaware dorms ($550). Meals for dorm campers are as followed Sunday= dinner, Monday and Tuesday =breakfast, lunch, dinner and Wednesday = breakfast.

The dorms are closely supervised and campers not following camp rules will be sent home. College coaches will be made aware of a camper who has been sent home for not following camp regulations.

Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Club
Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Club is a summer travel club for local youth boys and girls. We currently have U11/U13/U15 boys  teams. This will be our fifth summer. Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Club is committed to each player and to the game of lacrosse. RRLC is a secondary opportunity club team, with no affiliation to any youth and/or school organization, for local players eager to participate in competitive, player-developmental lacrosse in the summer and fall seasons. As current head coaches and current/former NCAA lacrosse players, RRLC coaches have the experience and knowledge to ensure a player will grow as a player and person. The primary objective of RRLC is to help strengthen the tools needed to be confident, polished lacrosse players. Salisbury Shootout Logo
Salisbury Shootout - Boys & Girls
The Salisbury Shootout lacrosse tournament, slated for June 1-2, 2013 offers a weekend full of action-packed youth lacrosse and fun on the Eastern Shore. Created to showcase youth lacrosse on Delmarva and the surrounding areas, the Salisbury Shootout features competitive teams in age groups from U9, U11, U13 and U15. To add another level of excitement, games will be held at the back to back Division III Men’s Lacrosse National Champions, Salisbury University, on their state of the art turf field in "Seagull Stadium." In addition to competitive games and great playing fields, players and coaches have the unique opportunity to attend clinics led by the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Men’s lacrosse history, SU’s Jim Berkman and his national champion players and staff. Players and families are also eligible for exciting and free door prizes.

Delaware State University Women's Lacrosse Summer Clinic
Delaware State University Women’s Lacrosse team will be hosting a summer clinic on August 3rd and 4th from 9am-11am for high school girls graduating years 2014-2017. For more information you can contact Kari-lei Maddox at kmaddox@desu.edu or at 302-857-6011.


Viking Lacrosse Camp (for Girls)
Delaware Coach of the year PJ Kesmodel will serve as camp director & former Delaware Player of the Year Meg Bartley (now starring at Virginia Tech) will serve as head instructor at the Viking Lacrosse Camp in Lewes, Delaware.
Dates & Times: Mornings from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, June 18-20
Location: Cape Henlopen's Legends Field, Lewes, DE
Ages: Players entering grades 5 through 9 in the fall.
Cost: $120 for the 3 days of instruction (including personalized instruction for goalies), a reversible camp tank top and a personal evaluation report card.
