This interactive workshop will provide leaders with practical tools to implement an organizational culture conducive to positive coaching both short- and long-term. Participants will... Dec 2008 U.S. Women's National Team Clinics In Philadelphia January 24 US Lacrosse annually conducts U.S. Women's National Team clinics for youth and high school girls' lacrosse players (ages 10-18). These clinics are excellent opportunities for youth and high school girls to learn from the best players in the United States. The clinics serve as fundraisers for the U.S. Women's National Teams program and for local host chapters of US Lacrosse. On January 24th, a clinic will be conducted in Philadelphia at Spingside School. Clinics are held in conjunction with The US Lacrosse chapter and cost $55. Act today as space is limited. Girls U-13 Team to Represent DLF at US Lacrosse National Festival in Ohio The DLF will be sponsoring a Girls U-13 team to travel to the US Lacrosse National Youth Festival in King's Island, Ohio, June 12-14. Tryouts will be held for all interested players. Tryout details will be posted here in the near future. Officials Training Being Planned Training sessions are being scheduled for March 8, 2009, for first time officials. The Girls Lacrosse officials will train at Wesley College, and the Boys Lacrosse officials will train at the University of Delaware. This will include classroom and field work. Online registration for the 2009 US Lacrosse National Convention ends on December 31. Until then, registration is $80. After that, registration will only be available on-site at a cost of $100. Register before December 31 and save! January 16-18, 2009 Baltimore Convention Center Baltimore, Maryland 2009 Registration Fees Early-Bird (Sept 15-Nov 15): $65 Regular Registration: $80 On-Site Registration: $100 The convention will be hosted at the Baltimore Convention Center, January 16-18, 2009. The annual convention is the largest educational and networking opportunity for lacrosse coaches and officials in the world. Cal Ripken, a youth sports trailblazer, will be the keynote speaker. Ripken's keynote address will take place on Friday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. For more information and to register click here. US Lacrosse Convention Offers Level 1 and 2 Coaches Clinics (Women and Men) Coaches planning to attend the US Lacrosse National convention in Baltimore should be aware that US Lacrosse will be offering Level 1 and 2, on-field training courses for both the men's and women's game. We highly encourage coaches to become certified, and reap all of the benefits! In addition, The Delaware Lacrosse Foundation (DLF) will reimburse any coach in the Delaware area who completes both the on-line and on-field portions of the US Lacrosse Level 1 or Level 2 training (more info). Both courses require registration separate from the convention registration and are not included in the convention’s registration fee. Level 1 on-field training will take place on Friday, January 16 from 7:30am to 2:30pm at the Convention Center. Participants will receive training material and a certificate of completion valid toward Level 1 certification requirements. Level 2 on-field training will take place on Thursday, January 15 from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Convention Center. All funds will be donated to United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware for Collin Zwichert's daily medicine and treatment.
