St. Barnabas
In order to participate in ANY games this coming season all NEW and RETURNING Ducks must take the online St. Barnabas course. Courses taken for the 2008-2009 season DO NOT COUNT!!! Nor do courses taken for any previous season. Instructions are as follows:
- The code for our organization is delawareducks1
- Direct your browser to: http://www.discoveringsportsmanship.com
- Enter the "Rediscovering Youth Sportmanship Program"
- Fill out your information and enter the organization code
- Take the course
- After taking the pledge print out your Pledge Certificate
- Give your copy of the Pledge Certificate to your coach or team manager once identified
Again this must be done before stepping on the ice for any DVHL games this season so let's get it out of the way as soon as possible. The course and the Pledge may be taken by one person per household. Please let a board member know if you have any questions.
Ducks New Training Facility
On August 1st, 2008, the Ducks took over the upstairs area between the rinks. This area will be used by all the Duck teams as a training facility. This new training ground is a significant step for the Ducks organization.
There is a team of volunteers designing the facility to meet the needs of our teams. An initial order of equipment has been made, and solicitations for donations of equipment will be forthcoming. Please contact any board member if you can lend a hand in the development of training center.

Volunteering
If you are interested in becoming a USA Hockey certified coach (which is mandatory for any adult on the ice or bench,) please contact our Coaching Coordinator, Burt Palmer at Burton.M.Palmer-1@USA.dupont.com. Please be supportive of your Team's Manager....remember they are volunteers and tend to take an awful lot of grief. They continue to scramble around trying to find people to run the clock, keep score, and work the penalty box. Please offer a helping hand when available.... we are always in need of volunteers to run the clock, keep score, penalty box, and assist with coordination of our fund raisers. PLEASE contact your Parent Coordinator to volunteer.

Relax...it's just a game...
Recognizing that aggressive adult behavior is on the rise at youth sporting events....USA Hockey and Hockey Canada have partnered to launch a series of public service announcements targeting parental behavior. Lampooning the overzealous....the radio, TV and print PSA's are clever, witty and designed to encourage parents to think to themselves, Relax, It's Just A Game.
Watching your child play this exciting game can get the best of us at times, so thanks for keeping ALL your comments positive. While your kids give their best effort on the ice, you need to give your best effort in behavior.

The Midget 18A team are not afraid to let anyone know that TOUGH GUYS WEAR PINK! The team wore pink in support of a Ducks parent, Karen Woicekowski, who is a breast cancer survivor. In addition, the parents wore pink ribbons, made by Mrs. Tamany, in support of Karen. The team's coach, Joe Koslosky, indicated that this is "what a team is all about!"
Congratulations to Karen for her continued recovery.
The Ducks Bantam A team had a tremendous season, finishing third overall in the DVHL. Entering the playoffs, the Bantam team faced off against two league rivals, beating each to be crowned the DVHL Playoff Champs.
Entering Districts as the third seated team, the Ducks did as well as the first seated DVHL team, by beating the Flyers Youth (the eventual championship team) and narrowly losing to the Bridgewater Bears in an overtime shootout. The boys represented the Ducks organization well, and we’re all very proud of them.
